Hello Asha Asscher owners, can you tell me about the sparklieness these stones have I am thinking about buying one, because I love the elegant look to the cut,but I don't know how well they sparkle. I'm a sparkle fiend and want something that twinkles a lot. Can anyone with asscher experience tell me about the light play or share a video or picture please? Thank you smile

After pulling out my Asscher Asha and pretty much observing it around the house and outside, even inside my car, in different lightings (for about a month now, I've been doing this daily), I can honestly say that I find the sparkle of my ring just a tad bit above subtle.

I have a close friend and she got a RB, H&A, and that thing sparkles. Like it twinkles. So I know what you're trying to ask.

But this is why I love the Asscher cut. It might not sparkle to the other end of the room, but the cut is mesmerizing. It invites people to stare deeper into the faceting. Also, I feel that the excellent cut of the BTD Asha makes the stone even more believable and exceptional.

^_^

I have one as well, several pictures linked below. There is lots of fire and color, but because of the step cut, they are more 'bars' and flashes of color than 'sparkle'. Love the play of light in the steps, but it is 'different' and if you want a fireball on your finger, I believe the round brilliant is cut for exactly that.

check out these links.

I have a few and they are one of my favorite cuts. Those and the cushion.

The asscher is more 'liquidy' if that makes sense. Kinda of like mercury. It still sparkles, but not in the way a round does.

And, I know this sounds crazy, but on a cloudy day, they are AMAZING!!

I have an Asscher Asha and a round Moissy. They are like night and day and it really isn't a fair comparison at all.

Like you, I am all about the sparkle. So I wear my round 100% of the time because I find my Asscher to be lifeless in comparison. Part of this lies in the cut, but it's also due to the difference in material -- Moissy has substantially more brilliance (light play) and fire (color display) than Asha does. Also, discounting light play all together, Moissanite material has a deeper/more solid look to it and I find that my Asha Asscher looks glassy in comparison. Not everyone feels this way, but many do. Lastly, I need to give the Asha Asscher a scrub down twice a day to keep it acceptable looking, but I can go weeks without cleaning the Moissy and you'd never know it's dirty.

I hope I didn't just take the wind out of your sails all together. But that's my experience with the two. The Asscher Ashas are beautiful in their own right and it really is up to your personal taste and lifestyle.

Is there a way you could order both loose to see for yourself, and then return the one that doesn't cut it for you?

from what I've read, it's more about the cut than the material, because even asscher diamonds are hard to keep clean and can look badly if not clean or cut well. "People either hate them or love them".

the asscher is my all time favorite cut I think. I've only ever had an asha so it may be a cut issue but I don't think so. I've had RB diamonds (my ering) asha (tried replacing my ering) and moissy. Hands down the moissy was more diamond like to me and didn't require the cleaning that the asha RB did. I sent that thing back so fast!

So while there may be an aspect that's the cut (I've never owned an assher moissy or diamond...just asha) there is definitely a difference in material, no question. At least for me. As was stated I could go a month without cleaning the moissy and it looked fantastic. If I go a day without cleaning the asha it looks dull and lifeless. And I'm not in a profession where I'm hard on my hands at all.

I just got my Asscher not too long ago and I have to say I LOVE it! It's definitely not going to throw light like other cuts but then I don't think you should expect that it will. So far I haven't had any problems with keeping it clean. Its been a couple of weeks and is still as sharp/sparklie as the day I got it. Of course, I don't wear it to do anything - take it off to wash hands etc. etc. etc. Other than swiping the face a couple of times with my t-shirt that's all the special treatment it has gotten smile When the Amora Gem Asscher arrives it will replace this center and that will be my "forever" ring smile

Some pics...just because laugh
