Hi Lovely Ladies-

Question for those of you who use GemCare, how do you keep it fresh and get the most life out of it? I just got a refill and looking for ideas. My first one I kept in the little jar it comes with and before I could use it all it went funky!

Are you rinsing the jewelry well and getting all the paste off before you soak the ring? After a couple of years mine gets all milky white looking and then I just throw it out and put in a fresh packet...

Use bottled or distilled water...no minerals! I have very hard water, and if I don't use distilled I wind up with gunk in mine.

Of course it also helps to do a quick rinse and brush under prongs before soaking, to avoid floaters. I've had mine since last summer, keep it in the kitchen by the sink, and it's still fresh smelling/looking. I use mine about every other day.

Someone mentioned before, moving it into a differernt container, becasue their Gemcare container was not air tight or something. Maybe that will help too.

I keep it under my desk and it never gets much direct light or heat, that probably helps.
