The Octavia is my favorite cut of all time. I would love a sapphire in that cut.

Asscher comes in first, but the Octavia is a close second. Such gorgeous cuts!

A well cut asscher (or any other kind of step cut) just makes my heart skip a beat!
I love the Octavia's too, especially their outline, but they're just a completely different type of beautiful to me.

Absolutely labelo. The only thing they share in common with a traditional Asscher is the step cut facet structure. It's optical design is completely different.

I think the reason why I like the traditional asscher the best is because step cuts, IMHO, are beautiful because of their simplistic nature. They aren't as "busy" as brilliant cut. The Octavia is super beautiful, and it has more brightness, but to me it gets away from the simplicity of the traditional step cuts. It is a very unique and desirable cut though, no doubt!
