This is my first topic here! Hope I don't mess anything up. So my question is, what size sim (mm wise) do you prefer for believability and wearability? Do your sims all tend to be around the same size?

I like between 7mm-8mm usually. I have short fingers so that size can look large on me, even with a size 7 finger. It really comes down to what you could afford if you were buying a diamond and if you care if people think it is real or not. Some people buy for those reasons and some people buy for aesthetics and don't care what size the stone is as long as they like it.

Depends on what your finger size is. I'm a 5.5, and I love 7mm -8mm. I would go under no problem, but probably wouldn't go over.

I like both believability and wearability.

I am a 6, and I like 9-10mm. I just think it looks the best in my hand. As far as believability... well, we could afford 1 ring with a stone that size, but have more than one, so people that know us know that. But, I tell everyone that cares what my stones are; moissy, lab grown ruby/sapphire etc. Some of my friends have zero interest in jewelery and just assume that a sapphire is cheap because it is not a diamond, lol, so I don't share with them.

I think for me it also depends on the shape of the stone. Since my preferred stone is an Asscher, the cut corners somehow minimizes the size for me a tiny bit. My ring size is 6 and I ordered a 7.5mm Asscher. I have not set it yet, but the stone on my hand seems absolutely perfect. I probably could go under to 7mm, but that's it.

My husband and I have weird spending habits. He is super frugal on most things--like grocery, household items, etc.--but we spend our money on other things (like traveling). ^_^ We can afford a 2 carat Asscher diamond. But won't spend it on one ring alone, as that is our saved downpayment for a house.

I'm no expert but with a 7.5 finger I (think)like 2 carats or 2.5 depending on my mood.

It depends on where you live too, I think. (for believability)

For me, size 6-6.5 finger, 1-1.5 carat.

For fun rings, that are obvious costume jewelery, I will wear big - any size. I think 8-9 mm is fun and looks nice. That is just me though. I always thought I would want a 2 carat diamond or sim, but it turns out that I don't. Who woulda thunk?

Well, I started out years ago thinking 0.50 ct was just fine. Then a 1ct looked even better, and so the dreaded shrinkage set in. Now, I like 8mm or so, some as big as 10 or 11mm.
