I received my Amora wedding ring set in December and have ALMOST lost it about 8 times since then and have refused to take it on vacation with me. My sister finally talked me into adding it to our renters insurance. It only cost us $25 to add it to our plan for the whole year smile My husband is very skeptical about it and feels like we will get dubbed over if anything ever happens to it. I'm one of the world most clumsy and forgetful people so for me it might be a matter of time. I have lost rings and they have showed up years later in old purses or jean pockets. He seems to believe there is a catch...as if, if something happens to it (breaks, lost, stolen, etc.) that it won't be as easy as they make it out to be in order to get reimbursed. I made sure on the phone with them that even if it was at total fault to me (I asked what if I lose it in the ocean in Mexico because my hands were too cold and I forgot to take it off?) and they said not a problem, totally covered, no deductible!

So what I guess I'm asking is, am I being safe? Is this the real deal? Has anyone ever had an insured piece stolen or broken or lost?

Thanks for your insight.

(For the record it is through Ameriprise through Costcos Exc Member plan)

lost my wedding ring while in a hotel several states away - they paid original receipt amount - that said - we should have reappraised along the way...and we did not...but still...they paid us what we originally paid :0) *we paid more than 25 a year though...50 I think??? but insured more than one ring/piece

Yes, my sister had hers reappraised (vintage band purchased for $600 originally is now $1,800 since Plat went up) Since mine is only 14K and a moissy, we probably won't do that unless gold goes up drastically. smile Thanks for your input!!
