We're pretty low key for Mother's Day/Father's Day.

My lovely kiddos cleaned the whole house (far more than their normal chores), and DH grocery shopped and made dinner for the celebration when the rest of the extended family came over.

And I got to take a nap while all this was happening! Got some Crabtree & Evelyn lotions and bath potions from DD & DS, and a Nook e-reader from DH.

Mother nature even let the weather hold up until everyone had gone home.

Spending a few weeks in Vegas so only one kiddo and no hubby for Mother's day. We spent most of the day with my mom, sister and nieces. Got a nice hotel room for a couple of nights to play tourist, they have a great pool area with a lazy river and wave pool too.

Gift are limited right now as we just purchased another house (VA)and will be having some expense related to that (like doing the entire yard as it is a new build).

Oh Red, I love that pool and my kids always love going to the Shark Reef Aquarium! We try to take them there whenever we visit my mom. I heard that you can now dive with the sharks there. Yikes!

So the house in VA - does that mean a move is in your future again?

Low key for me too, but I'm not a real mom. Just a mom to my 4 furry kids. 2 pekes and 2 cats. I received a DBY style white topaz 38" necklace. It's been the perfect everyday piece. I can wrap it or wear it long. It's perfect!

We are also low-key for M-Day, F-Day and birthdays. This year DH had to fly out because some brilliant person scheduled a meeting first thing Monday morning after M-Day. Some mothers were not as understanding as I but DH has been gone before and I have had MUCH worse M'day's, lol.

We had a little bit of M-day Saturday evening. DH bought me a purse that I wasn't sure I wanted and some earrings/necklace that he wasn't sure I wanted but the kids talked him into it. They all came with gift receipts so I'll pick out something else.
Sunday we all went out for breakfast before the airport. DD made dinner (sweet and sour pork) and dessert (blueberry cheesecake!). DS gave me a little something, helped with dinner and clean up. I lounged on the couch while they did most of the work.

MrsGotRocks I have been living (in an apt) in VA for almost a year now. My youngest took mom to college. Mr is working part time in VA a few weekends a month. He retires in a year and we will be living in the area of VA where the youngest two are going to college. I will be taking over care of his father in the fall (Alzheimers) as part time care for him is crazy expensive. Mr will use the time dad isn't there to do a few projects and put the house in NJ up for sale. Sorry for the boring info ~Red

I had a wonderful chillaxin' day! And my oldest kiddo picked out 2 Pandora charms for me. The Cinderella carriage and the Queen Bee. He said he remembered I said I wanted the carriage - months ago, mind you. He is gonna make a stellar husband one day! :-D
