grrr, went to edit spelling but accidently deleted.

I know what you are saying, and it is hard. But kids are hard, lol, and 2 will only be that much harder. I am not one that believe we can have it all. I think it is possible to have a lot and for it to be good, but some compromises will have to me made. Whether it is schedule, or taking less jobs...or daycare, only you and DH can decide.

A litle OT, but related, I ordered something from Etsy and the lead time is 10 weeks!!!! 10!!!! It is nothing that complicated, but they are just that busy. So if people really want something, they will wait a bit longer for it, or pay an additional fee to rush it. I wanted this for their room, but it wasn't urgent, so I sucked it up an got in the 10 week wait line. I should get it in 3 or 4 more weeks, lol.

My turn around is up to 12 weeks wink
BUT, I receive at least 8-10emails DAILY of customers asking asking asking, even though I have it all over my shop it is made-to-order, etc etc. And the LAST thing I want or need is negative feedback because I could not deliver.

Something else to consider! You sons nap may move into the afternoon more...maybe you can encourage that? So you could do the 11:30-2 or 12-2 naps? If you adjust this, you could have a better 'shift'? I know you might worry about him sleeping less at night but that is unlikely. At 1year old many kids (mine included) have 2 naps a day still - they need sleep! As long as he has at least 4 hours of wake time before bedtime, he should sleep just fine at night. I'm surprised you can keep him up 7 hours at a time at his age.

FWIW, I don't see the big deal in having daycare a few times a week and I am a SAHM! Though, I will agree that most WOTH moms I know do say that the biggest downside to daycare is that they get sick...a lot.

Good Luck!

A nanny? lol, only I wish.... I was one for 10yrs and I have a pretty good idea of what the rates go around Chicago wink

maybe not a full fledged nanny, what about a trusted college or high school student .......a mother's helper at least for the summer, for 2 or 3 hrs per day.

As oppose to day care?

Price-wise so far a in-house sitter is still way more.

And if I'd pay someone (which is EXACTLY what DH doesn't want) I'd put him in daycare so at least he'd be around kids and he'd see the world.
