And I've been going back and forth with him for a couple of months now on different things, mostly quotes and sourcing stones/designs info. While sometimes it has taken him a bit to get back to me - and I'm not really needing anything soon, which he knows - he has *always* answered. Even if it is a Sunday at 1030 PM, he's answered. I dislike chasing anyone as well, even if it's just for a simple three word answer or a one line quote, but out of all the vendors I've contacted, he's consistently been one of the most responsive even if his lag time is a bit more than some. I know he has quite the queue from here and I assume he has other work as well, so I do wish he'd sometimes have an assistant to help him out (actually, I thought he did? He seems to personally answer all of my emails, though) but sometimes I appreciate NOT having to go through an assistant and getting to speak to the bench directly, you know? Hopefully you hear back from him soon, OP, but if you've only sent one email and haven't, I'd probably send a second just to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe the first got overlooked or didn't arrive.

But I am peeved that she thinks it's worth nearly $1,000 for a gold version. I really like the design of it. I was considering buying the silver version for $160 (with coupon code) but I think the fact that she thinks its worth that huge amount turns me off to going through her.

She also got a patent and copyright,..so for sure no one can copy it.
I like the heart one,..but I want something that I want to be around my neck at all times,..and this design just doesn't do it for me. But she was really creative!

Hi! The emilyc's idea is "patent pending"...until the USPTO patent application and the official patent number replaces the "patent pending" warning, other people can still use the idea. Some jewelers might not want to bother at all, but I did reach out to someone to see if they could make something like this for me and that's what they told me (regarding the patent).

I think it is protected when pending... Patents take years to be approved. Less would know, he has had a lot of patents pending.

It's just like the horseshoe puzzle... Maybe look it up and see if a design can be done like that? Two horseshoes with a ring in the middle. It's a bit tricky but once learned easy peasy.. And very very very very secure!
