Hopefully my jeweller is a man of MANY talents...

Did your jeweler see your setting?.. and okay the 9mm size to fit in there?..I asked about recently about a setting having a 8mm stone in it now. (emailed pictures of the setting) and going to a 8.5 or a 9mm and I was told it could not be done.... but then again.. possibly it depends on the setting???? if you asked your jeweler and he said its okay.. then I am sure it is.....Oh I see you said there is a gap?. so maybe the gap will be filled in completely by the 9mm stone?.. or what if the stone is too large for where the stone has to fit in?.. did someone measure the entire area where the stone will fit on to?.. that would be the best way to see if the 9mm will fit..

Hi Laurie... No and no, it's all GUESS work - lol, absolutely typical from me! I only spoke to him down the phone! He just priced me for the work if a few alteratons had to be made to hold the stone in place.

Im guessing that the tiny gap before the first halo will be plugged by the 9mm. I have a feeling the stone will be set quite high in comparison to the 8mm. It's only 1mm... isn't it??

I have a feeling that it will be perfection in the end...

You are funny..;-)).....I guess its only 1mm?..but there also needs to be room for prongs to hold the stone in place?!?.... when you put a 8mm and a 9mm stone side by side one is considerably larger than the other.. around and in depth...your jeweler will know best when he sees it...Keeping my fingers crossed it will be perfection!..:-))

I decided to make a band ring. I have always wanted a classic eternity band but also love more antique settings. I decided someday I will just get an eternity band from moissyco but for now I wanted to try getting my own stones and making something totally unique that I designed. So I am trying to do a combo of these two styles....The pave bars in the first and the antique etching and milgrain work in the second. I put an offer in on a 5mm round but now I can't decide if I should do that as the larger center with 4mm on the sides or go bigger and do 5mm on the sides and more like a 6.5mmm center (or I could go all the same size for a more uniform look). HMMMMMMM sugestions always help!
