Hi everyone! (POLL IS FOUR POSTS DOWN!!)

If any of you have been following my random posts, then you´ll be happy for me when I tell you that I found a designer for my ring! I´m so excited I couldn´t sleep last night!

I´m buying a 6.5mm OEC Moissanite. I haven´t decided unenhanced or Amora. I kept going back and forth between bezel setting, antique replicas, simple solitaires, halos... I was going crazy. The only thing I knew was that it had to be yellow gold.

Rewind to about 4 or 5 years ago, I found some pictures online of some gorgeous granulation rings that were made in the style of the Byzantine era. I fell head over heel in love with the designs and spent the better part of the year trying to find someone that did that kind of work in 22k gold. alas back then I didn´t know about this forum so I gave up when I didn´t find anything.
(these are the old pics that I STILL have on my computer)

Fastforward to yesterday when I was looking for someone to reproduce a Victorian mount for me, and I almost fell out of my chair when I found a designer on Etsy that makes granulation rings!!

I´m style a little on the fence about the exact design I want, but THIS IS MY DESIGNER!!

Janish Jewelry from Etsy
http://www.etsy.com/shop/JanishJewels

I´m looking at three differnt custom designs...

First Option:
22k bezel with 3 little granules on each side, accent diamonds on the granules, 18k shank (kind of like the citrine ring in the second picture)

Second Option
18k high polish bezel with 3 little granules on each side, 14k shank (kind of like the last picture of the green stone ring, but with no silver)

Third Option
22k bezel, mini granulated "halo" and one granule on each side with accent diamonds, 18k shank (sort of like the one on the top right hand corner)

Ultimately, when I save up again, Í want to pair this ring with a beaded band like the ones in the original pictures. I would wear it as a wedding set. when i got married almost 8 years ago, I opted for my Cartier love ring so I don´t really have an Engagment ring with band set. This would be IT!

If any of you have worked with Jill or have any comments on any of the designs, I´d love to know!
So far she´s been great answering emails.

I´m so super duper excited, please help!! POLL IS FOUR POSTS DOWN!!

Oh wow, I love those pieces! I'm no help on your ring choice, but I JUST got my Amora OEC (like, today!) and I'm blown away. Gorgeous is an understatement. I posted it in the Amora section.

AverysMom! Just saw your new OEC, it´s amazing! You definitely need to post more pics as I´m going to need a lot of sparkly love to survive the wait until I get this ring made!!!

Aren´t they? And the fact that I´m still drawn to the same design after all these years says a lot to me.

Thanks for the info regarding the bezel, btw. :-) It seems like I´m going in a different direction altogether!

It was an ebay find! My jeweler inspected it and it looks to be a genuine antique. I just got it a few days ago actually.

Here's the link to it. I've got more photos and videos.

I have perused the etsy shop you're using many times. So unique and I love 22k Gold. The color is amazing.

I picked option 3 because I love a simple halo like that without stones. I think it will look really unique! I actually contacted Jill to see about doing a project before I decided to get my OEC. She seems really nice and I can't wait to see how your ring turns out!

Soooo...... Thanks to everyone who voted! I ended up picking the setting that most people voted for, so I guess my gut feeling was right! :-)

ALTHOUGH.....I was totally seduced by the beauty of a light charcoal grey rose cut diamond!!!!

I´m going to be leaving my OEC dreams for my next project because an elongated east west rose cut just looks SOOOOOO right with this setting.

Jill is going to help me look for the right stone. I´m wavering between either a light charcoal grey with some translucence or a creamy beige, also with some translucence.

Creamy beige like the one in the center, yet a not so opaque...

OR

Light charcoal grey like the one in the bottom center

In either case, the setting would be the one with the bezel in 22k, with a mini granulation halo, and a diamond accented granule on either side with the 18k shank, (like the creamy beige rose cut ring)

Any opinions as to which might look better with 22k?
Thanks for your feedback everyone!!

I think the beige looks better with the 22k; both warm tones. While I like the grey better, the cool grey with the warm metal clashes to me.

I'm late to the party, but I chose the third on the first poll (LOVE THAT BEZEL WITH THE HALO!!!) And second on the second. I agree with Jcent about the clashing.

This ring is going to be INCREDIBLE.

I love the contrast between the cool grey and the warm, almost hot gold. I voted light charcoal grey.

that way, both the gold design of the setting stands out and the beauty of the stone stands out. Those who admire will get in close to examine both setting and stone- then they get equal attention. smile
