I think it's a sapphire. It would sparkle like a CZ **BUT** It would have white and blue flashes. White sapphires, clean ones are stunning in their own way, like moissanites or asha and all other gem stones.
jcent... Your sapphire is lovely but looks a tad cloudy? Wouldn't sparkle as it could do, if that's the case. Could be dirt, etc?

It isn't cloudy in real life, it is quite clear, but probably just covered in finger prints. But I diasgree that they sparkle like a cz. It throws light in large flashes, but they are not highly refractive stones.

JCents right, corundum is not a material that has a high RI. It won't sparkle like a CZ.
A moissy will be great to switch this out for!

czs don't look dead though... sure they do! just not the good ones, which we've all been spoiled by. but your average, run-of-the-mill CZ can be totally blah and dead-looking. i got a ring today with one, as a matter of fact.
