I hate feeling like this...I'm glad I've been able to avoid this for 10 years...lol

I say do it now and get it out of the way, it may drive you crazy waiting. And.... if for some reason it doesn't work the way you want it to, the awkwardness will be over by the time you meet up over the summer.

Jamie, I just thought of an experience I had (Jcent's story triggered it, lol). I had a guy friend a long time ago have a crush on me, BUT he would tell me about another person he had a crush on. So I would try to be a good friend and give him advice about this other girl (how he should approach her, romance her, etc), and eventually he stopped talking about the girl and we went on talking about other topics. I ended up finding out YEARS later that he had a crush on me and was telling me about this "other" person to see what my reaction was. If I had any sort of unfavorable reaction (I guess jealousy?) he would've "taken" that to mean I might have feelings for him and he would've taken a chance and told me. Unfortunately, I didn't have any feelings for him (besides the friend part), so I really wanted him to be happy with that other person!!

So...just a thought.

Oh, and we are still friends. So no hard feelings there. I'm married and he's (hopefully) going to propose soon to his girlfriend of three years. Happy endings! lol

I agree with Poppy and say tell him too!

I just wish it would be as easy as when my husband and I met...we knew the first day we would be together.

He does know that I'm not in the market to get married again and I act like I'm not interested in him (though I do call him Handsome from time to time...lol). I just don't think I'm his type.

I agree that I should tell him, but do you think that I should maybe step back a little and not be as available for our "chats" and see what he does? Or just say to heck with it and tell him?

I wouldn't play games. You are both adults. And people have a lot of "types" in my experience. My DH likes brunettes, and when we met I was blonde. He also like outdoorsy people, and in our years together we camped outside once... Then he bought us an RV so I would go without complaint, lol. I think it comes down o companionship and getting along great. It it sounds like the 2 of you have that covered, so I would just be honest and put it out there.

On the bright side, this has motivated me to do some things for myself that I have wanted to do for a long time, like work on my health, get back to exercising, make time to read and relax a little etc...for ME!
