Well, the screeching continues. The offenders have been positively identified. I saw them at dusk on a branch in the back yard. Because they are staying close together it sounds like one bird calling but it is definitely a PAIR of young barred owls. One of the parents came up to feed them and then flew away again. It was cool!!
Take a look at who stopped by for a visit! These are the young owls, still screeching instead of hooting. They stayed for 15 minutes or so, 20 feet from the front porch. I'm glad I had the camera handy.
