Miss your amora? Are you crazy? THAT is one of the most exquisite antique diamonds I have EVER seen. Look at that symmetry. That's like my dream stone. I'm hoping I can replace my asha ACC with a diamond like that for my 10th or 15th anniversary. Holy mackerel! You did good.

Hey sorry I've been MIA. I know you guys have been waiting for an update. I don't have he diamond yet =(. Things have been delayed a month because I had an emergency come up and that wasn't such a big deal, but then something very STUPID happened that I'm very upset about: my husand came accross a "great deal" for an SUV and I bought it for him, but it's turned out to be a nightmare of a money pit and a mistake I dearly regret!!!

I had promised him one a year ago, with a relatively small budget because he just wanted a beat up one to use for hiking. This SUV was more on the "luxury side" of things and 2.5x that budget but I trusted him that he found a good deal so I said yes because he loved it and was so excited about it. In the past month, this crappy project of his has cost me $20K total when he originally had a very small budget for the project. And this morning, I go to check my account, and this most recent trip to the shop cost $3K instead of the $2K he originally told me it was going to be. His excuse, "he forgot." I thought he knew what he was doing but I honestly think they think he is a whale and they are having fun ripping him off. I told him he's not allowed to go to them anymore. He said, "how do you know they are ripping me off, do YOU know cars???" Well, I'm not an expert in cars, but if he had just asked me, there are ways to make sure you not getting ripped off. Come to find out this morning I looked up reviews for the shop and there are a few people complaining that they were ripped off. I wasn't going to post about it but after this morning...I just had to. I'm so pissed that he thinks that this is acceptable. Honestly I think that inside he doesn't want me to get the diamond so he is finding ways to spend the money elsewhere.

I HATE his car projects. In the past year I've bought him two cars. The other one has over $5K in upgrades and I put $4K down on it. I honestly would have much rather have leased a brand new one for him and it would have been a 100% tax write off for me veruss $20K down the drain.

Ugh!

Anyway, back to the diamond. It's going to have to be NEXT month. Adam has been so awesome and patient.

I hope it doesn't create a rift between you and your husband, and the silver lining here might be that if you make a mistake purchase in the future, he will have to be understanding considering that is what you are doing now for him..

OH NO! What a bummer! Boys and their toys. Oy vey! At least my husband is sensible about cars -- but he's a musician so I have a whole other thing to contend with.
