Holy WOW!!! That is a lot of bling!! I like the lower set center in the DK ring. The inspiration center is set WAY up high in an already high setting. My personal preference would be a larger center in proportion to the halo. BUT, if the halo is smaller (given the smaller center) then rest of the ring may look out of scale. I say give it some time and see how you feel wearing it for a while. It is stunning and very close to the inspiration ring...I'm not sure it could be any better!

Your ring is stunning!!! Wow. Nothing wrong with the craftsmanship or anything like that. But my first impression is that it overwhelms the center stone. Also, a cushion faces up a bit smaller than a princess cut. There will be a difference in how it looks in a setting and on the finger. If you don't like the proportion of the stone to the setting then the only options are to either have it redone in smaller melee ( I have a feeling the inspiration ring has smaller melee) or have it done with fewer rows of micropave, or try it on in person and see how you like it on your finger. You may very well like it better in person as the setting is soooo bling bling!!! The whole setting, including the shank would have to be scaled down in smaller melee if you want to change the proportions, not just the halo part can be redone. Bling bling!!!!

I love the setting and it's gorgeous!! I DO think he gave you what you asked for then. My impression of the ring is not based on the size of the setting, but rather the proportions of it to the center stone. But, yes, it is a believable size for a center stone. I had one in a 7mm but I am a 4.25 finger. I think it's worth shipping it, wearing it and then deciding. I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you receive it!

Well I think the craftmanship of your new DK ring is very well done from the pictures, but it doesn't look a whole like like your inspiration photo IMHO. It looks like the shank is wider, and the look and proportions are bigger. But after reading through your thread with the cads and your "big look" mentality, it seems like he hit the nail on the head! All I can really say is that I have a feeling you are going to really love it, but if by chance you get it and you don't fall head over heels, I wouldn't settle. So much time and heart goes into planning something like this, and you deserve to have exactly what you want!

You asked for beefier and DK gave you a big ol' steak! Because of what you said about loving something chunky and wanting the center stone to be believable to pass as a diamond, I think this fits the bill. But whether or not the proportions sing to you as a whole is going to be up to no one but you. As an objective outsider, my take is this: The inspiration video feels like a setting that compliments the center stone, where yours feels like a center stone that compliments the setting. Does that make sense? What's more, does it help at all?

I think your ring is a really good replica of your inspiration ring. I agree that the Centre stone is smaller compared to the princess Cut, but the setting almost looks identical. I also noticed the lower profile of your ring which I really like.
I think you'll be happy with the ring when you get it, but I think the change in stone shape is throwing you off.
