Olivejuice, I attached a link to another setting that is what I think you want for your band. And btw, I have one from DK that is the same idea. It is my engagement ring. Each diamond in my band is prong set though, so it's not a smooth as what you may be looking for. We can PM if you want more details. My ring looks very, very similar to yours, but with a more narrow, 3-sided band.
Here's the link:

Finally stopped raining so I am doing some pictures today smile

Thanks for the info Renee. That is the look I wanted, or was expecting anyway. Does anyone else thing the band is too rounded and wide?

I'll be back later today with shots - smile

So maybe this is not what you are wanting to hear but I think DK did reproduce what you asked for with your inspiration ring. Yes I'll give you that the band is wider than it could be and this is not reflective of what was showing in the CAD so that might be a point of contention. I wonder though, did you ever get waxes of your ring before it went to casting? At that point you would have been able to get a better idea of proportions etc.

In terms of the band itself, I think you got what you asked for - maybe a bit wider. I don't see in the inspiration ring pic that it's angular - i.e. square or 3-sided like you're now saying you want. Especially since this was not evident in the CAD I'm not sure that you could say that's what you wanted or were expecting originally?

Please don't take this the wrong way. Certainly I think you should get the ring you wanted but I think there's a big difference between what you were "expecting" and what was shown in all of the initial design CADs etc. So, I could see how David might be less inclined to say it was an error on his part. However, given that he's a totally stand-up man I'm sure he'll make it right. It's just too bad it got all the way to finished product.

Hope it all works out!

Along that topic, is this what the final CADs looked like? Did you see the wax and is this what it looked like? I wasn't sure if there was last minute tweaking done after the CADs you posted. This is not what I was visualizing when I saw your CADs so I am curious if there were changes requested by you that we didn't get to see in a later CAD. Your ring is just much beefier than I was expecting. I know you wanted beefier, I just didn't see this ring in the CAD. I am worried for myself now, because DK is doing one for me right now and I should get the CADs from him tomorrow. I just hope I can visualize what the ring will truly look like from the CADs. And like iwannasparkletoo said, DK is a really stand-up guy and just wants his clients to be happy, so I am sure he will work through this with you!

No - really I'm not taking anything the wrong way - I asked for opinions and that is what I'm getting. If I was 100% happy I would have just posted the ring in the Customer Gallery and been done. I appreciate the opinions.
No I did not get a wax thing (LOL) - just the CADs. I did change one thing after the last CAD, which was how far down the split went in the shank. That doesn't affect the width of the shank.

I am happy with the halo and the basket - I was even expecting the basket to be higher - but I love it. I am not happy with the width of the band, and I wanted a three sided band. I believe the video shows that, I didn't think to verbalize it. Don't get me wrong; I think David did a wonderful job, the quality of this ring is outstanding by all means. The underside of the band is even raised in the middle to keep consistency. Beautiful work

I am going to post a few more pictures to show more detail hopefully.
