I have been so...worse than indecisive about settings. I remember moco's 314 being a contender along with a few other, but ruled it out cause I hadn't seen irl pics. Until recently! http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/...teCo#Post745629But, One of my lovely faults is how picky I am. What if the prongs were attached to the band, going/flowing through the little under..band? What is the term for prongs positioned like that? I have decided cushion, so would it look ugly/different if the prongs weren't on the corners, but in the middle of the sides? And if it would be ugly, what about a kiteset cushion? Unless my taste is totally wrong (lol) and the prongs shouldn't even flow with/from the band. I can see it in my head, but I can't decide if I like it or not. Help):

The changes you are describing do not sound possible to me, without going custom. I personally do not like it when stones are kite set...there are times I have liked it, but generally speaking. Nor am I drawn to settings with the prongs set at 12,3 6, and 9. HOWEVER, I do not think it will be ugly. I think it will be unique, and if you LOVE it like that, then that is all that matters. I am sure some people are not fond of my rings, it doesn't matter, I love them.

I thought I did comment on your new ring?!?! It is blingtastic! I liked the citrine, but the moissy is gorgeous in there. I thought I wrote that... Just "generally" it is not my first choice... but there are a few on here that I really like kite set, it just suits the setting and the stone, and I couldn't image them the other way.

Jcent, I totally adore your rings and appreciate your input, very much. And, duh. I learned something new today(set at 12, 3, 6, 9) so thank you for that as well lol. And I know it will look different..but I'm just worried it'd be an...ohhh. that's...different vs. an oooooooh. That's different. LOL I know It's gonna be mine, and only my opinion that should matter, but like when shopping for jeans or shoes, you just want to hear an opinion for that assurance(are you sure it hides my mom flab??) even if it may not make or break the vote. Oh, as for custom, I'be stored sir Klass's info. Lol

I do not think it would be "bad" different at all, lol.. It will be personalized to you, and one of a kind. But these changes will really make the ring different from the original, so I would just take my time and get all the adjustments right in CAD, so that the final result is exactly what you are looking for. oh, and I am not sure that "set at 12,3,6,9" is the technical term, lol, but it works.

I am sure it has been done. I *think* I have seen prongs positioned like that on some antiques...maybe on Lang's site. I don't have any pics saved of that, but try searching some of the antique sites.
