After much debate and reading things on this board, I finally decided to bite the bullet and order a Wink CZ stone for my empty setting from my first marriage. The setting is sentimental to me, and seeing it with no stone (despite still wearing the diamond in another ring daily) made me sad even though I knew my husband would have loved what I did, and even suggested it before he died.
O.M.G. This stone is amazing!! I opened the box in my living room, with no lights on and the shades closed so it was dim and was FLOORED. It sparkled and shimmered and looked nothing like any other princess CZ I've ever seen, I know why you ladies are so obsessed!! I wasn't expecting to have this reaction, but when I gently slid it into my empty setting just to see what it looked like, I cried. It reminded me SO much of the ring when it was 'whole', and brought back such happy memories. It's just a ring, and sounds so silly, but it really was overwhelming. Now I can't WAIT to see if my local jeweler can set it for me!! Yay!! Here are the best pics I could get, which are terrible photos and don't capture the look of the stone very well, but OMG is it beautiful in real life!! It's a 4.5mm princess cut stone. I had asked in my order if it could be heat treated and the little box said 'chinese white' so I'm assuming it was? I wouldn't know the difference, haha.
