Hello all,

This is a great site with a ton of info and lovely pictures of your stones!

I have a tension setting that I bought about 8 years ago and had a 6mm moissanite put in it about 6 years ago. The tint has bothered me over the years and I have been looking at the Amora as an upgrade. Please take a look at my pics and video and give me your opinions. I have no idea what my stone's color is but under fluorescent lighting it does have a green tint especially from the side. I may be too critical of it and wonder if I should wait for the Amora gem instead. Thank you all for your help. I hope my pictures post correctly. First one is a video.

Really pretty ring!! I love square brilliant cut moissys!

If you really want a truly white stone without any real color to it, you can always do an Asha princess, which by the way is a gooooorrrgggeeeeooooous stone. If a little bit of color doesn't bother you, then the Amora will be something you will be happy with.

It all depends upon how color sensitive your eye is. smile

Thank you. It is a sparkly stone but my pics in the bathroom just don't show that.

I would wait for the Amora Gem Princess. Tension setting a cz can be hard, so you may end up cracking or chipping an Asha if you try to put it in there in the meantime. You could try a Wink CZ as a interm stone, as it is cheaper, so if it gets damamged it isn't such a big financial loss.

Thank you for that comment about the cracking. I had't thought of that but I am not really interested in changing the moissanite out for a CZ anyway. Although the Asha is beautiful.

With an amora, you'll have better color and no green tint, so if you are okay with a warm stone with no green, it will be perfect for you, if you want colorless, you could just wait until next year when the Amora Gem princess cut will become available. ^_^ If you are planning on upgrading to the Amora Gem down the road anyway, I'd hold off on switching the stones.

And ditto on the CZ tension settings, those can be tough to do!

What a beautiful ring--I hadn't seen it yet! I think your moissy actually looks pretty good. And it's still intact--moissanite may be the only stone that would have spent time in this setting unscathed! For sure, CZ/Asha wouldn't do it. I know it's been a million years since you posted but I would leave it as is until the Amora Gem comes out. Cool, cool setting.
