I would not recommend recutting. Recutting moissy and specifically the polishing process, has to be done in a cerain wayor it changes the colour of the stone. MichealE has recut 2 moissy stones that have been posted here, and the first went from quite white to champagne, and the second, while not as champagne has the first had noticable body colour.
eta: perhaps send the the stone back to the seller for an exchange.
I think it's something to do with the properties of the stone, it's very carefully angled when cutting for maximum whiteness or something.
Sadly I can't return it as they don't have another in the same size, only a 7.5mm which I think with a halo will be too big on my finger! So I will have to live with a slightly wonky cushion!
