I went to town, which is 20 minutes away instead of the city because I found out all I needed there at a mom and pop jewelery store.

The owner tried many attemps to locate the inscription but had no such luck. I knew it was a long shot with having 8 prongs but it was worth doing.

He measured and this is what really concerns me. He got 7.99 and my stone is supposed to be 8.17mm-8.23mm x 5.29mm

Ugh. Not the news I was hoping. If I was wrong about all of this, I would gladly eat crow but now I'm more than ever convinced this is not my stone.

my moissy stones did NOT measure exactly what was on the card either though..just to confuse you more!! ug

it is like everything digital. 2 different scales will give you 2 different weights... We are talking about tenths of a mm. I really think DK will be your best et here, you will just neef to wait for him to return so that he can examine it and see.

forgive me for saying this, BUT since there's nothing that can be done until the guy who made your ring gets back from vacation....


so, hard as it may be, i suggest putting it away and trying not to dwell on it until you can communicate with him directly.

I agree. I think I've gleamed all I can - measurements, looking for inscription, diamond tester, etc. so at this point, all I can do is wait. It's going to be a loooong month.
