A ring at the doorbell....

I almost never order anything but DH and the kids do so nothing unusual there. But this box needs a signature. Odd. It is addressed to DH....from David Klass. DH is out of town until Friday. All I know is that he has been spying on me here and secretly working with DK. He said it is something that I liked here. I like a lot of things that I don't want, lol. It could be anything and that makes me just a bit nervous. I can wait. I really can. I'm the type who can look at my Christmas presents and not even wonder what is inside. I'm not a peeker. It's hard to get me curious to the point of being anxious. I like surprises though. But still, the box should not just sit around on the counter. So, it has been busy today. It played games with DS. DD gave it a make over while I did my nails. Then it helped with laundry.

That is sooooooooo sweet MamaCass. What a great way to keep your kids thinking about daddy even when is is far away.
Yup, I already have grocery shopping today and DD is going to work on a few surprises for Mr. Box. I think he will have some real fun before Friday!

LOl on the toilet....Kanga, you are a riot! I did put it on hubby's side of the bed last night!! Not as warm and cuddly as DH but better than sleeping alone. LOL I was thinking about wearing something racy and giving Mr. Box a big kiss but I wouldn't want DH to get jealous. And no, I won't post that picture!!

Oh, and if you all have any suggestions for what the box should do I'll see if we can make it happen. Mr Box needs to perch precariously on the edge of a desk, and go "whoopsie" and fall on the floor. A corner will break open and little shiny thing will come rolling out. "Ohhhh, what's this???"

It has been a very long stress filled month in my home, but this post has made my day! Made me laugh esp the grocery store, and BR. Thank you MG, and whatever is in that box, you really deserve it-you have a wonderful sense of humor and imagination. I'm sure your DH appreciates you as is evident by the box! Can't wait to see!

I have had the worst day, after one of the worst weeks. I'm stressed to the point I can't even cry. But I hopped on the boards for the first time in awhile, and found this wonderful thread. Thank you so much for the giggle, MG. I truly, truly needed it today. Hope you and Mr. Box have fun tomorrow, before you GUT HIM LIKE A FISH on Friday!

Ewwww. Cricketgirl! I don't want to have to fish the sparklie out of the potty. Lol. We will have to find a humane way to get the sparklie out.
DH messaged that he is really enjoying the pics. At least he is having some fun while out of town cuz his work this week is anything but fun. Blah.

HA! This is a hysterical thread. My daughter said this is one of those hare brained ideas like I come up with. lol.
I think that for the big reveal, Mr. Box needs a tux. The nice kind out of the pretty textured black paper from the scrap book store. Don't forget a bow tie and some shoes for those pibbies!!
You can make some fancy DK buttons and cufflinks out of sparkle paper to spruce that tux up!
LOL! Put some sneakers on him, like Chucks- in some vibrant color like red!

Today will be a high of 87 and not too humid so yes, I will be OK outside. Most people here are hiding in the AC by now but the kids and I have been out working on DH's Father's Day gift. I didn't think Mr. Box should handle power tools, lol.

DD thought my zip line was a bit underwhelming. OK, it really was the zip line for our poor old blind and deaf dog and now I use it as a clothes line but really, did you see Mr. Box smiling? He was having a blast. Anyway, DD sent him on some adventures.

LOL...DD will be glad to hear that Ginger. She had some fun doing it....she gets her corny sense of humor from me I guess. DS thinks we are crazy as the squirrel that begs for nuts on the front porch. He asked me yesterday, "Are you really taking that box on errands?" (rolling eyes). He used to wear his home made super hero costume out in public and in a crowded checkout line once he looked in the cart and asked "What is Tampax? Is that a snack?" So yeah, dear son of mine....being seen in public with a box (even one with a face and feet) is no big deal, lol.

It's finally the day of open heart surgery! Yay! I've just been lurking here, but wanted to let you know I'm excited to find out what your patience will have earned you! You're better than I, with will-power of steal! Mr.Box is sooo cute

so do i. and i'll confess to peeking into giftwrap, too, to see what was inside. not because i wanted to know what i was getting, but so i would know what sort of reaction the gift-giver was expecting. but i *do* think Mr. Box should be opened carefully. he's just having a little lobotomy! he can still be a productive member of the family!

Oh yay, today is the day Mr. Box has his surgery to recover the artifact he ate! I've loved seeing his adventures this past week, and hope after we get pictures of his surgery and post recovery, we get to see what he was hiding too!

Mr. Box is amazing. I love it that he went back in time and still had the energy to party in Vegas. What a guy!
I can't wait to see the post surgical pathology report and pics!

Dana, besides the fact that I hate surprises, I also did it in case I got something I didn't like and I could prepare myself mentally and put the apropriate thank you face when officially opening the gift. The worst thing anyone can do to me is tell me they have something and I will get it X day... I also give thanks to God that I never had a surprise party in my life! I so would have hated being subjected to that!

Its Friday, Friday, Friday...gotta open Mr. Box on FRRRRIIIDAAAYYYYY! (you know that terrible, but very annoyingly catchy song..right!?)
AHAHAHA....I started reading it that way before I even read that last part of your post. That song is terribly catchy!! The girl who sings it is so cute and sweet though!

All I can say right now is WOWZER!! DH hit a homerun! I know you all will want to string me up on a zip line for saying this...but I have to come back later and post pics...we are on our way out the door right now. And if I waited all week you can wait a few more hours. Update on Mr. Box. His operation was successful and we expect a near full recovery. We have decided to keep him around. I doubt he can outdo his debut performance but he can be used for other little surprises.

Glad to hear Mr. Box's surgery was successful and that the operation will leave him barely scared, in the meantime I apparently need to go make dinner, empty the dishwasher and move laundry so I don't go crazy waiting for pictures. ^.^

Hi all!! Wow...you guys have no stamina whatsoever. LOL! Ok, so I picked up DH at the airport and told him that Mr. Box was now taking direction from him. So he rode in the back seat while we made a stop. Then we went for lunch and DH said Mr. Box would be joining us. So we ordered and then DH said I could open the box. I was being slow and careful (hoping not to have to use the box knife in my purse, lol). Our meals were brought out before I got it all open so DH said to stop. We ate lunch with Mr. Box ON the table, partly open. LOL...I'm not sure if DH thought I would eat through the box but he enjoyed salting me that last little bit. One by one Mr. Box gave up his contents. Another box, then a bag, then another box and finally a black jewelry box. At this point DH thought we should go outside where it is brighter, allowing the contents to sparkle to the max! So finally I got to open the little back box. I was SPEECHLESS! DH confessed that he hadn't been stalking me here but had found my 'favorite things' file on the computer. There aren't many things on it and he didn't want me to figure it out so he fibbed about where he got the idea. I can forgive him, lol. Here they are!! OK, so that's a lousy iphone pic. Here's one DK sent and a couple I took in not so good lighting. I'll try to get some more outside tomorrow. They really are perfect! We spent a nice afternoon together, took a walk and enjoyed the front porch swing after dinner. That's why the delay in posting.

Your earrings are gorgeous and your husband is a thoughtful doll. My 19yr old daughter loves how your daughter's mind works and was cracking up over Mr. Box along with mom. May the memories created make the earrings even more special ~Red
