When I found out, I wanted to throw up. I just am so upset over this situation and have emailed both moissaniteco and my jeweler.
I received my ring today and was immediately taken aback by how stark white the center stone is, which was the first thing I noticed when I opened the box. I have a round brilliant amora moissanite that is H in color and the stone in the ring I received today was much, much whiter. Then I noticed the stone behaved more like my cz in certain lights with a purplish hue to it. I was concerned so I went to the mall and had it tested at two stores - it came back as not moissanite every time. We tested a side stone to make sure the machine worked and that came back as diamond.
I know one cannot judge unmounted stones but it looks like a colorless stone to me. I have a winkcz OMC and it is colorless and this looks the same to me. I have an I colored .67 carat diamond and that diamond looks very yellow compared to this when the moissanite is supposed to be a J in color.
I just got home and have emailed both the jeweler and moissaniteco.
The stone is an 8mm OEC amora. I see that so many of us have comissioned David Klass recently with 8mm OEC asha/amora so it could easily have been mixed up, right? I know whatever happened it wa an honest mistake because I fully trust companies but right now I am really wigging out. I paid a lot of money for that stone.
I hope this post is coherent. I wanted to say the very white color is what set off my radar even before I had it diamond tested - and the diamond tester had a light for moissy.
I wish David were not out of the country because I wish I could call him to sort this out. I will call his office tomorrow and hopefully we can figure this thing out.

So did you send the stone to David Klass or did you have it sent directly from Moissaniteco? I guess I am just confused as to why you emailed them too.
I'm sorry. I know you're stressed about it. I would be too. I hope it's some kind of fluke and it's just an extremely white Amora moissanite. I have the same question. I am so sorry you are going through this. I would be freaking out too.

My brain is reeling..
I had MC send me the stone because I wanted to make sure I loved the OEC cut in person before I sent it to DK. I do not remember it being so white. I should have gotten it tested when I received it but it never crossed my mind.
I've tried all day in all kinds of lighting and I cannot detect ANY hint of yellow/warmth in this stone, not even when I view the profile. I can see some warmth in my amora RB in some certain lighting types but none of this stone. And remember, the RB is H and this is suppposed to be J so the warmth should be more apparent.
So after receiving it and loving the cut, I mailed it to DK.
The good news is that amoras are supposed to be laser inscribed so at least I can know whether it is my stone if there is that number on there.
Are there any tests I can do at home to tell the difference between moissanite and cz and asha?

I'm confused too.Let me clarify:
1) You have a RB amora moissanite that is loose at home, and that is what you compared to the stone set into the ring right now?
2)The stone that SHOULD have been set (in the ring) is a 8mm OEC amora.
3)What kind of cut does the stone currently set in your ring look like? RB or OEC?
No, my RB amora is set in a tiffany setting from Poppy which I compared to my new OEC ring that is also set. The only loose stone I *had* was the OEC amora but that is now set in the DK setting.

As for why she contacted moissco, maybe its to get some reassurance that an Amora is what she was sent originally so that she has more "proof" for DK should he need it.
Exactly. An error occurred somewhere and I am trying to figure out on which end it happened. If we know 100% MC sent me an amora OEC, then we have to assume the mix up happened at DK's store.

So you think somehow you there was an 8mm OEC CZ put into your ring instead of the 8mm OEC Amora moissanite? Can you take the stone and the grading certificate it came with to a jeweler to see if they can find the laser inscription?
