I'm very interested to hear people's feedback on their favorite pearl color, and also favorite pearl size and jewelry type.

Why is this of interest you ask? Well, lets just say we have something cooking that makes this type of feedback of very pertinent interest.

To answer my own question, after having viewed a lot of pearls, I am most impressed with the South Sea golden champagne colored pearls, 10mm+ sizes.

Ha! You took the words right out of my mouth! 10 mm is the perfect size, and a gorgeous glowing champagne with pink undertones. There are very few pieces of jewelry that I seriously want in this lifetime, and a fine strand of pearls is at the top of that list. I include them in my list of absolute necessities for a woman's jewelry wardrobe.

Yes! Large, lovely pearls, Golden Champagne, Pink, or Tahitian Black with rainbow effect.

The reason champagne is my favorite color is that it seems to be the most flattering to my skin tone.

The gold South Sea pearls are by far my favorite. The hubby just got me one in Kuaui, HI and it is gorgeous!! It's 10 mm with a small diamond bezel above it. It's set in an enhancer setting and hangs nicely. The gold pearls are just beautiful!

My favorite is the tahitian black pearl with rose overtones!

Less if I am thinking what you guys are thinking then "by god go for it!!!" I adore the South Seas champagne in maybe 8mm's. Tahitian Black pearls are sweet maybe in a delicate size like 7mm. Good luck on whatever you guys are cookin.

I think it's great that you want to introduce pearls to BTD. I love exotic pearls. The gold color you are considering sounds very beautiful. I don't know how high end you would like to go, but one of my favorite types of pearl strands has round pave diamonds between each pearl or a group of pearls. Can you picture what I'm talking about? What about Tahitian pearls? Those are stunning! I am very excited to see if you will offer this type of jewelry in the near future. I personally would rather the shell pearls, since they look and feel the same as cultured pearls. Why spend more money?

Thanks for your feedback - I do know of the diamond spacer you are talking about, its gorgeous but probably to high end for now.

Based on the feedback above, it looks like a tie right now between Tahitian blacks and South Sea golden pearls...we'll either pick one or possibly due both if we sense enough demand for them. We'll probably do a range of 8mm and 10mm sizes since that seems to be the most popular from the feedback i've gotten in person.
