Okay, how big is "big" for carat size? What is the size you don't want to go under?

I just dont want a tiny stone I have pretty big hands for someone my size (im pretty small 5'4) so Im gonna say .75 the least? or do you think thats pretty small

Moissy is my first choice, but on $1000 that will be hard for a large stone. So Next best would be a lab sapphire in my opinion. BTDs are a great price, and would leave you enough for setting, and in the diamond cuts, and very lively. Not sparkly like a diamond, but gorgeous nonetheless.
