How do you like your ring from KyleAnn Metals on Etsy? I was thinking of getting a rope band and you just re-ignited my interest.
I am a stickler for quality and Kyle Ann's rope band is amazing. It is woven perfectly even and has zero dips or waves. I looked and looked for the solder joint and honestly couldn't find it until I used a loupe, and even then it wasn't obvious. She does truly beautiful work. Her email communication is great, but then at the end of three weeks when the arrival date came, there was no ring and no email for an additional week. That was frustrating, but I get the feeling that this isn't typical for her and my order coincided with something unusual that caused it.

Just gorgeous Hadley... love the yellow gold as well.... Yes, I'm one of the final YOGO hold outs. Because of my body chemistry, I take rhodium plating off of white gold in a matter of weeks, not months. Even if it lasted months, I still would never have the patience to get my rings dipped that frequently. I don't just need low maintenance, I need no maintenance. I personally don't care for unplated white, and palladium/platinum are not possible for me financially. Because I can only wear 10K or better, even for just one day, I am deeply jealous of all of you who have the freedom to play with inexpensive sterling and platings. It looks like so much FUN. I go to the Berricle web site and cry!

I go to the Berricle web site and cry! I used to be like that! For years sterling wasn't possible for me at all, but lately my body seems to be more tolerant of it depending on what kind of jewelry it is and how long it's in contact with my skin. It used to be that I'd wear a .925 sterling chain for a few hours and I'd break out in a rash. Now I can wear a chain no problem for several days before I feel itchy. Pendants are no problem at all, and rings only if it's a really wide band that's very snug on my skin. Maybe eventually your skin will develop a tolerance to sterling?

A friend of mine has that issue Hadley... when she got prego her wedding set got to small for her she thought she would be able to get the weight off to wear them again so while she was trying to drop the pounds she got a sterling silver cz wedding set and within a couple weeks the entire rings were almost black.... she didn't know it was her cause her wedding set was an antique set of her grandmothers that was white gold and it had never been re plated just polished because she like me likes the warmer white color...

Hadley, sorry to keep buggin' ya about the twist band, hehe. Is it an eternity? Does the twisted pattern go all the way around or is it 3/4 eternity? It is eternity to a point where it is very hard to find the start/stop at all, even when examining it off the finger. On the finger, it can spin until the end of time and you'd never see the solder joint. To be fair, I don't know if I got one of those rare ones where she said, "Bam! Nailed it!" or if all of her rings come out this seamlessly.
