I don't see how I can fight against them though. I can't force them to change the stone for me. I don't think i'm brave enough smile

This is probably going to get this thread locked but I think it needs to be said.

What on earth makes people think they are entitled to go around a black and white policy?? And why would you not see your stone first to make sure you like it? How is any of this the stores fault?

Customer buys a stone. Customers stone is set. Customer does not like stone. Store policy says that once a stone is set, it can not be returned.

Why would the customer get to return the stone? And how is that "bad" customer service? Just because a customer is unhappy they should cry and complain and "not take no for an answer"?

The jeweler that set the stone could have done something wrong and it is a known fact that moissy, which at the end of the day is what this stone is, preforms pretty poorly in overcast conditions.

I dont mean to make anyone feel bad and Im not affiliated with any company here but it drives me bonkers when people think they are entitled to have the rules bent for them because they messed up and then they further try to get their way by citing customer service.

To the original poster, Im sorry that you aren't happy, I know it is heart breaking when your sparklie isn't right and I hope you get something that makes your heart sing!

I like it.I think it is pretty but if it is bothering you maybe sell that stone and get an Asha. They are really pretty and very diamond like.I think you would love an Asha.

+1

Unfortunately, just with any stone, while the grading report helps to give an idea of how the stones stats, it doesn't give an idea of how the stone performs, what one person likes another can hate, which is why I think it's so important to see the stone first.

I really, really hope you find something that delights you when you look at it every time.

I didn't expect the vendor to treat me any differently than anyone else. I suppose I just wanted to come here and offload my feelings and hopefully work out what to do next.

As I said, the stone performs really well in most lighting. Its just the overcast sky where I see the greenish tint. I stupidly thought that the Amora treatment eliminates that and it doesn't. In fact it isn't claimed anywhere that it does. I completely accept that I should have looked at the stone before it was set. Lesson learned there I think smile

Funny...I was just looking at my Amora today in a particular lighting and thinking it looked too white. I've never seen butter or green color. It is definitely worth it to see the stone in person first as no inspection will 'see' just what you see. That is the risk when sending the stone to be set first. If you didn't like the color you could have tried another or an asha. Some lessons are learned the hard way I guess.

FWIW, I think your ring is gorgeous and it sure doesn't look green to me. Hopefully you can sell it and get something you really love.

If i buy a black car, i expect a black car. If i buy a VSH coloured diamond, i excpect that. If i would buy and pay the extra for an Amora, i would NOT expect a green stone. If i was to buy from a well known company, i would trust them enough to send my product to whoever.

Life is all about being fair, you should get what you pay for. If the supplier OF ANY product, fails to meet the standard stated, it should be rectified, end of.

People work hard to make their money to purchase products of their desires. It's up to a company to get an order right, whatever that product should be. Anything less is sloppiness.

And that is exactly what you should do! Any of us would need to vent if we got something and were disappointed by it. On the bright side, you shouldn't have to wait more than a year to a year and a half to upgrade to the Amora Gem OEC if that's your end goal! White, perfectly cut sparklies all around! ^_^ As for what to do, I guess it depends on how much it bothers you (the color that is). Since it wouldn't be too much longer for the Amora OEC, you could do a Wink for the time being, or keep it and sell it off to fund your new Amora when the time comes.
