I contacted Moissanite.co to ask if I can return it and they said no because its been set in a ring. I asked why I paid the extra for an Amora stone if its going to be tinted and they just reiterated that I can't return it.
I am confused. Having a stone set doesn't void our return policy. We have a time frame however in which a customer can return it. When/who did you speak to? Hi Mike, I spoke to Kristin, this is what I said and her responses: Me: The stone was set into a setting before it was shipped to me. Will it still be ok to return the stone? The jeweller will unmount it before they send it back to you.
Kristin: Once another jeweler besides us alters the stone or setting in anyway, the warranty is void and we can't take it back for refund or exchange.
Me: The reason I am returning it is because its not what I expected. Its supposed to be an Amora. Which means the stone shouldn't show any green tint? The stone was sent to my jeweller and I purchased the setting from them.
Kristin: The color grades of our stones are listed on our website. So you did receive an Amora. and once it was set by another jeweler our warranty is void we can't take it back sorry to say ...
Me: Even though its showing the green tint that I paid extra to make sure I didn't get?
Kristin: I'm sorry. If you have any other questions about our policy please email our sales team.I purchased the Amora on 31st May. I received the finished ring yesterday. I don't live in the US so I don't think I could have it back to you in the 30 days window even if you agreed to take it back. I would have to send it back to Brian Gavin to have it unset then they would have to send it to you

Our company actually orders all of the Moissanite from the Moissy distributors. Because of our volume we have better pricing. All of the stones, the OEC stones included, are sent to NAGL first for prescreening. The stones are screened for color and cut. From there they go to BTD for treatment. They are then sent back to NAGL for inspection, certification and then to us for sale. In a few cases (less than 5%) NAGL will send a few stones back to BTD for retreatment. There are quality control checks that happen throughout the process.
That is excellent to know the OEC's go through the same process as the rest. Don't know how the idea got in my head that because they were a special order cut that they wouldn't have as much screening capability. MissCassie,..I do not believe this to be the case with the NON Amora OEC's,...just the amora ones....

Shell,
Was that convo on their live chat? With past orders or issues, I've noticed the sales team seems to be more able to help than the live chat reps. I think the live chat reps are able to answer basic questions, but for customer service I'd e-mail the sales team. Best of luck, and I'm sorry you are disappointed in your stone.

What complicates this is that its not your order. Another person and another company purchased it, and we were contacted after the returns period had expired.
Concerning emailing, I have searched through all of our emails, and we haven't received any from you (unless you are emailing under a different name). You contacted us via chat on the 30th and again yesterday, but this has been the only communication you have had with our company that I am able to find. Most can attest to the fact that we do respond the same day to all email inquiries, often in a couple hours or less.
You are free to purchase another Amora OEC Moissanite to compare to the stone you currently have, and if you feel it is whiter return the other stone. Because all of the stones have been graded and screened by NAGL who is much more expert in color grading than we are we can't guarantee it will be whiter unfortunately. We currently have 2 in stock.
The only other alternative I can offer is an Asha OEC, and we can give you the difference in store credit.
