I think the idea to order another one to compare is a good one; especially if Mike is willing to take whichever is more tinted and give a refund.

I took that photo inside my house but at my patio window. It was facing into the house so the reflection you can see on the shank of my ring is from outside. But I don't believe the green from outide is reflecting on the stone as its tilted inside the house. I can go somewhere else to take a photo where there is no green nearby if that helps? I thought the return policy for stones was 30 days but I see now thats only for rings and other jewellery. I only received this ring yesterday, I didn't see the stone till then. I can't afford to buy another stone to compare with this one. I don't have enough money. I also don't want an Asha as I already have one and wanted something that is less likely to scratch. It looks like I am going to have to keep this one

There are pros and cons of Asha vs Moissanite, even Amora Moissanite. If you would like to exchange it for a round brilliant Amora Moissanite it would be 2 color grades whiter. Or you can wait until the Amora gem is available in the OEC and then sell the Amora Moissanite (since Amora gem will be E/F I am confident you will be able to sell it because there will be many who will prefer a warmer stone).

I feel your pain. I have a love/hate relationship with my Amora. My original stone, a $ 20k amazing natural diamond, was lost out of the setting and long story short I was out $ 20k and a diamond. We can not afford nor do I really want to spend another $ 20k after all that drama but there are days I hate this ring. Most days it's ok. I think it adds salt to the wound that in the 9 years I wore the other stone people fell all over themselves where ever I was because of the stone. Since placing the Amora in it, not one word in 9 months. I have to learn to live with it. I'm hoping the new H&A may solve any of the hate I have with the stone. We shall see. Personally, I think your ring is beautiful.

Oh, lostindiamonds, I'm so sorry to hear about that! How heartbreaking to lose the stone of your dreams. I really hope that when you do get the chance to upgrade to the Amora Gem, that it puts the love for your ring back in your eyes, and the compliments to be sure!

Someone has started a thread about her amora stone and she went and found the worst possible conditions to take the photo, green trees, grass etc and her stone doesn't show the colour mine does. That was me. Here is the link to the photos. http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/ubbthreads.php/topics/752675/1You can clearly see the green of the shrubs reflected in my gold band, more so than the reflection on the photo of Shell's band that Mike C posted. Yet my Amora is white and hers is not. What's more, I have a yellow gold setting and a larger stone, while she has a white gold setting and a smaller stone -- two things that should give mine more body color than hers. But she has an OEC, where mine is a RB -- which should balance the color comparison back to about even. But it does not. Really...... In general there has been a recent spike in photos of Amoras that are showing unfavorable colors. I've worn Moissanite for 15 years and intimately understand and forgive its moodiness. But photos posted here of "duds" go well beyond that, and they are increasing in frequency. A couple have even looked as yellow or yellower than an actual yellow Moissanite. It is what it is.

. A couple have even looked as yellow or yellower than an actual yellow Moissanite. It is what it is. I know the post you are referring to, and for whatever reason her camera did make the stone appear pretty yellow. However it looked nothing like that in person when we received it, and I would be happy to post pics/video to show it. You have a round brilliant which is an H color AND is a more brilliant cut which means not only is in 2 color grades whiter, it will also face up whiter. The stone in question on this thread is a J color and an OEC cut which is not cut to maximize brilliance. Therefore we are comparing apples to oranges. Moreover I don't believe yellow gold makes a Moissanite appear more yellow. In my experience the contrast of the Moissanite on yellow makes it appear whiter (as opposed to put a stone with some color in it against a perfectly white metal).

I know the post you are referring to, and for whatever reason her camera did make the stone appear pretty yellow. I am not referring to any one post, but several. What keeps being referred to as isolated or rare incidents is becoming rather common. And what keeps being blamed on cameras or reflections doesn't honor the reports that posters give like, "It looks like this anywhere outside my office," or "It looks like this more than half the time." Here are three that were posted just in the past several weeks alone. There are more, but these are the readily accessible ones that came up in a 3-minute search. I am NOT looking to argue here, which is where these things usually go. So beyond this I will be out of this discussion.
