A while back I posted about getting ideas for a new home for my 8.5mm btd asscher kashmir. I decided to get a JBEG while I still had the chance

I got the first set of CADs a few days ago, and after a few changes, I received the new ones today, and I'm very very pleased!

I will post them as soon as I get home tonight!! Very excited.

Now, to think of what kind of band to pair it with... Stay tuned

Here they are- my version of the plain Julia Bezel. Added cuffs to the shank and a beveled bezel I think its a great mix of hard and soft lines, classic and modern

jcent, yes its a reset! it was previously set in its temporary home, a light tiffany solitaire with claw prongs. this will be a much more substantial and stately home for my "little" Betty Blue

the sapphire is 8.5mm, but the bezel will definitely add to the coverage, I am curious to ask Erica what the total mm width will be!

I thought that was what it was in! This will add to it for sure. I am guessing it will be nearly 13mm with the double bezel like that.

HOLY CANNOLI!! this will by far be my biggest piece then! the largest i've gone is a 9mm moissy in a solitaire.

But i think color stones give you a little room to go larger

for sure! When I ordered my sapphire I ordered the 9mm first, but when I got it I thought, I can def go bigger. With it being darker, it looks smaller...

I just added 1mm for each bezel, I could be way off though.

i'm curious too, I shot erica an email to see what the total mm will be i'm excited. the first CAD had a much thinner bezel but i wanted it to be a little thicker.

Can I just mention that three weeks is not very long! I have been waiting on my e-ring since November. It will be amazing when it is done though and it has just been a lot of trial and error type stuff holding us up.

I think it can easily stand alone, but if you want a band with it, that would look great too! I would do something simple... do you want sapphires in it? If so, maybe a scattered eternity with sapphire, or something like the etoile with sapphires. But not too wide, like 2mm or 2.5mm.

I really have to see hand shots first before I recommend a band or no band. I can see it either way though.

thanks! i'm undecided, but my original vision was a few simple but eclectic stackers. i got it .25 bigger in size so i could stack and since i'm losing weight I may have to stack to keep it on (or make it an rhr). I actually would love to include a little sapphire band, but they are proving hard to find on the cheap. And color matching is a concern for me too. I guess the hunt is part of the fun though



i agree! no doubt it will take up a lot of finger real estate, i might have to wait to get a band(s) till i wear it.

Wow!! It is stunning! The Julia bezel is my favorite setting, though I may be biased since that is what I have. Haha.

I absolutely adore the modifications you had done to the setting, it will truly be a one-of-a-kind. Can't wait to see pictures of the final product!!

Chatham makes small melee that match BTD kashmirs perfectly. MrsKennedytobe used them for her band and they are fab. Just so you know.

i was also thinking to do either different color sapphire bands, or at least one multi-color sapphire band for the days i'm feeling like something "fun". i love the rainbow stack look like Rebecca Romaijn's set. On regular days i'll probably do something more refined, but i'm really excited to also have something that plays up the color factor.

Have you considered a french cut sapphire band? OMGoshhhh is would just be devine!

I have seen some really nice rainbow bands!! Not for everyday, like you said, but definitely fun for some days.

yup! i have a bid in on a multicolor sapphire baguette lot for a few dollars... they aren't exactly "top drawer" but they're cheap sapphires and i like the baguette shape

i like them too!! after looking at them i figured I would only really wear 2 of the 5, so I think I'm going to order those seperately.

So far I picture my stack like this: 1.5mm sapphire band, 2mm round bezel band, and either my 14k twisted wg 2mm band or a 1.5mm cz stack band I think those will look nice, and I can get all 3 for under $100 i think.

Thanks! I have no doubt yours will be just as beautiful, if not more! I am not quite sure what I am doing for a band. Grace, Erica, and I are talking and trying to figure out what we want to do for a wedding band. My husband is already pulling his hair out at the thought of another project. Haha.

I love your idea of multicolor sapphire band to go with the ring. What I think is......perhaps a few diamonds scattered through the band to lift the color!

good idea on some white to lift the color- i found a band that fits the bill pretty nicely for my "fun" band, but it's sold out in my size hope i can find it elsewhere!

BEAUTIFUL!!! The cuffs and the bezeled halo add so much style to this ring. I'm not a "large solitaire" type of person. I prefer rings with more design style and I think you hit a grand slam with this one!

i asked erica how many mm's it would all face up... she said most likely around 12mm!! OMG- that is definitely the biggest ring i will have ever had by far! a little scared if i can pull off such a big look (the largest i've ever gone is 9mm), but i'm looking forward to it!

As my sapphire is a 12mm, I can tell you that you CAN rock that size.....the color alone will just amaze you in the setting.....it is going to be a killer!!!! I am so happy for you!

its been about 3 weeks since i agreed on the CAD, so Erica is checking on the status with the bench, i hope its good news and that its ready soon!!

as for a band, i actually did find a little rainbow eternity at Target believe it or not. i wear it as a stacker with my diamond e-ring, not sure it would go with Betty Blue though.

This is my first berricle purchase. My mom ordered some earrings recently and they are quite stark white.

She did bake them at 400 for 2 hours. There's more depth to the stones, but very dazzling white still. I have the feeling she will bake them again.

I have the feeling I will need to bake my new band a couple of times as well.

Please tell me you are also getting your ring this coming week !
