Agreed, the blue stone is prettier...but I'm biased. Blue is my fave color!

Thanks guys, I like the stone too but not the setting ... wish I remembered what the stone was. I bought it on my honeymoon 20 years ago (ex-husband) in the Bahamas. Think I can find the receipt for the description? LOL

Anyway I guess I am going to the jewelers to see what the stone is and how big it is. I actually was taking it in anyway to put a ChrisCZ in the setting for my daughter. (It's actually the setting from my engagement ring from her father so I wanted her to have it)

So, if I buy that setting and size of the stone matches - that wouldn't be an issue to swap that out?

Looks like a bi color tanzanite to me. Just a guess.

I kind of remember this being over 4cts but I don't remember. I am going to take some more pictures and see if I can't get an answer.

if you buy a new setting and the stone it currently holds is the same cut/measurements as the blue stone, then it shouldn't be an issue to set the blue stone into the new ring.

one common issue with putting coloured stones into rings is that they're often belly-heavy and don't fit into the calibrated settings.
*but* if it was set into the ring it's in now without any modifications then that might not be an issue for that particular stone.
(it isn't always an issue, but it does happen, so i wanted to mention it)

and, from the other direction, if you buy a ChrisCZ in the same dimensions as the blue stone, it should be able to go into the gold ring with no problem.
