So, I just wanted to give an update! My bf and I decided to go with Amcor here in NYC last week! And Laurie has been such a pleasure to work with and super responsive to all my questions!! Hopefully by the end of July I'll have my e-ring!!!!

She took the time to explain what was and wasn't feasible with our ring so now we're getting:
Asha Asscher 7.5mm center stone with white and blue diamond accent stones set to the design I posted above in platinum.
I'm really glad I trusted my gut reaction to DNL's suspect behavior and didn't just go ahead with them. So, as an update to that scenario:
I was so PO'd with how our DNL sales rep was not very responsive. And more importantly I was peeved that their website promotes a stone guarantee that if anything happens to the stone (for the life of the jewelry piece), they'll replace the stone with a very nominal charge. Then when I requested my custom piece, they decided NOT to honor the stone guarantee so I would have to have to pay for the entire price of resetting a stone by myself. For me it raised a red flag. To offer a guarantee on your website and in all your catalogs, but then cancel that guarantee when someone requests a custom piece (when they promote their designers as being "some of the best") gives the impression that they don't stand behind their work. DNL's excuse (because I spoke with my sales rep as well as their head of marketing) was that because so many components of the ring were being made to spec (different center stone, cutting the blue stones which weren't stock items & having to redesign the setting to fit the center stone) it couldn't be covered by their guarantee.
It just sounded shady to me. And I'm glad I didn't go with them. Especially since I saw a few threads on here where you can see how cloudy the DNL stones are compared to the Ashas.
So glad I dodged that bullet!!!
