Hi ladies! I'm curious and want your thoughts.

Right now I'm planning on getting 2 carat cushion or H&A round in the 1895 Cartier setting and can't decide which to get. I am just now considering the cushion and know they'd both be pretty. The round being more traditional and matching the stones in the setting and the cushion being slightly more different. I know the round might appear bigger too on my hand. I wear a 7.5 ring size but have long fingers. Opinions?

I like cushions better than rounds. And the AG cushion will be H&A too, so it will be amazingly sparkly. The only poopy thing is waiting longer for the cushions. I would wait for it though, if it were me!

It's 100% a personal preference sort of thing. I love rounds, always have, always will. It's only recently that I've taken to liking cushions. I would personally stay with a round for my e-ring (I have an OEC Amora) but other fun sparklies are great as cushions.

When I first saw the ring set I assumed I'd get round, but after seeing the video of the cushion I started considering it too since it's just SO gorgeous and will be super sparkly. I'm more curious if it looks better in that particular setting. I think if I was getting a halo or the tiff cathedral which I had considered also I would for sure get the cushion. I have a round moissanite now 1.5 carat size. I love the round and know I'd love it, but it's the safer choice. Cushions are new for me and it would be a bit more of a risk, but I might end up loving it so much more because it's different to me. I think my head is going to explode...LOL

One more question. I'm leaning toward the cushion as of now, however, I'm assuming I should measure the size of what I want not by carat but by mm since the cushion faces up smaller on the finger. Since I have larger fingers I'm looking for about that 8mm look/2carat for round, but I guess that's 2.5 carat for cushion. So when I go to order it if I want the 8mm version of the cushion I'll have to pay 250.00 more, correct?

Yes, go by the mm, not the carat weight.

8mm (2.5ct) Cushion should be $1872.50
($749 per carat X 2.5 carats)

8mm (2ct) Round should be $998
($499 per carat X 2 carats )

So if my understanding is correct, the cushion is going to run you substantially higher because it is $749 per carat, as opposed to the round that is $499 per carat.

Also, be advised that while a 2ct cushion would look smaller than a 2ct round, an 8mm (2.5ct) cushion will face up larger than an 8mm (2ct) Round.

Example: I have a 9mm OEC that faces up smaller than my 9mm cushion.

Kat, where did you get that AG cushions would be $749/ct?

According to the pages on BTD, all Amora Gems will be *roughly* $500/ct.

Les had said that was just a holding amount right now since the most common order is 1.5 and that all AGs were the same price if I remember correctly. I didn't realize the 8mm cushion AG would face up bigger than the 8mm round. That may be too big for me then. Boo. I wish BTD offered a 7.75mm option as that would be my preference.

Perhaps their page is wrong, or they changed their mind after cutting..?
