Please describe how your Asha has held up over time or even better, post your pictures and videos!
I can see that they're lovely - but I am wondering how long I can expect an Asha to continue looking great with normal care/cleaning. I am not especially hard on jewelry, but would want to wear mine every day.

Hello Kanilea, and welcome to the forums! You are going to find that question has a huge array of answers depending on who you ask. For some, they need to replace their Asha every year, many do it every 2-3, and some have had their stones for 4+ with nary a scratch. I've had mine for a year now, and she looks just as amazing as the day I got her. She gets worn every day, but I take her off for sleeping, showering, dishes, basically anything where I'm going to get my hands good and dirty.

I wore my asha 9mm round for about 4 years without a scratch, had it placed into a cocktail setting, and wore it for about another 9 months before I sold it, and it was still in perfect condition.

I have only had mine since December but it still looks perfect. From other threads I've read, it just depends on the type of setting, how often you wear it, whether you're hard on rings or not etc. My stone is set very low in the setting with no pave and 6 prongs so I feel that it's much more protected than say in a tiffany setting.

Just to keep things fair, and not to stir the pot...
My Asha Asscher began developing small chips/scratches before the six-month mark. They were scattered along the top surface, along the edge where the table meets the crown.
I was crazy careful with my Asha because I was paranoid about this from the get go. I took it off for even simple activities like washing dishes and pulling weeds.
Alas, I am back to Moissanite so that I can do anything in it without worry. But I reset the Asha into a pendant so that I can still enjoy it. They really are beautiful stones, and I look forward to it having a long life as a necklace where it is more protected from the surfaces of the world.

Hadley,
That is a good idea. I plan to keep my asha for a while, but replace it with the amora gem eventually. I'll probably have my asha set into a pendant as well.

Know up front this is a bit rambling but I have a point, I promise I have had two Asha stones. My first stone came from the jeweler with a scratch on it. It was a slip of a tool apparently. My fiance saw the scratch when it came but because he was going to propose I wasn't allowed to see it until he popped the question. He called the jeweler and told him about the scratch. The jeweler said that he saw it and meant to call but forgot. He also stated that he knew we were in a time crunch so he thought he would just send it out and he would replace the stone at our convenience. Because we were in a time crunch my fiance decided to hang onto the scratched stone and propose with it then we could send it back after. We were going on vaca and he wanted to propose so no time to fix ahead of time. Anyway... (sorry for the rambling) we went on a cruise and he proposed. The ring had a scratch that was visible to the naked eye upon close inspection. It wasn't that bad but it drove me nuts. I wore it for about 10 days 24/7 while we were away. Then I wore it during the day for about another week or two. I'm a student so nothing too harsh. At the end of the few weeks I noticed that other teeny tiny scratches were accumulating on my table even though I had been super careful. Most were only visible if I tilted it into just the right light and looked really close. But I knew they were there. We returned the ring and a new Asha was set in it. My new stone I wear every day (I take it off at night, in the shower, if I'm cleaning, etc) and I've been wearing it since the beginning of April. On this new stone nothing, so far so good. It looks like the day I got it! So my question is this: could the jeweler have tried to buff it out and failed but buffed off the coating instead? Maybe this is why there is so much variation in how they seem to hold up, perhaps this happens often at jewelers and we don't know? Or is there variation among stones? I think it's weird that you can baby a stone and have such different results, and my experience seems to be reflected in the experiences of women who baby their stones too.
