Oh Borismom, that would be divine!! I think rose cuts look best in a bezel setting!!

I hope they do! If not, I found another site that sells them. No idea if they are reputable or not though.

Question about these rose/rosette cut stones: what kind of setting works for them? I'm hearing they should be bezel or semi-bezel set. But then I see these gorgeous rings and earrings as above and here and it looks like they do perfectly fine in prongs, too.

i think... if you think about them more like an opal, or a cabochon, and how you would set one of those... then it makes more sense.

like, i don't think you can really replace a faceted stone with one of those, without some possibly extensive prongwork. and vice-versa.

but if the setting is designed for such a stone, or has never had a stone set in it, then it should work out with no real problem for the most part.

i *think*.

ETA: I'm failing...there are quite a few pics that are great and in focus!! I don't know why I didn't see them at first. Whoops!!

Yes, I'm not planning on buying those earrings. (Would rather find a ring of some sort so I can enjoy seeing the sparklies myself!) But eBay is definitely very unkind to my wallet!!! smile

Hmmmm... makes sense. I guess up until seeing the above ring with prongs, and seeing those earrings, I'd only seen this cut in bezels. But seeing them in prongs opened up a whole new world of possibilities. I think the jeweler I go to could make something work even if I bought a prong setting for a rosette stone someday. I'm specifically thinking of one of those antique/Edwardian settings that might give the stone a little bit of lip around the bottom to rest on below the prongs. Anyone else who thinks this is crazy and definitely won't work, though, please correct me!
