Is your wedding band 14k? I have a 14k wedding band and 18k e-ring too. I actually prefer 14k and would have gotten my e-ring in that if it was available. I just love the rosy softness of 14k. Your pics show off the beauty of yellow gold and how lovely it can be. Yumm! And that's one nice honker of a stone on you! It is 18k It is definitely redder and warmer than the 18k yg of the ering, but all yellow gold here is like this (14k is not used here, the lowest carat gold you'll find is 18k),so it didn't even cross my mind that the two could be of different colors! They look nice together, though,so it's ok

Soooo...I dropped my ring. The stone is safe,BUT...I think it moved into the setting. The prongs are still holding the stone firmly, and the stone itself doesn't move, but it isn't straight into the basket anymore.I think it fell on the side of the bsket because it looks like two prongs are now a tiny bit "shorter" then the other two.Like the impact pressed them down, kwim? I'll have to look for someone that works with moissy and take the ring to be inspected there..

Yeah,it's totally my fault.I wasn't looking at what I was doing.I was putting it back on after doing the dishes and I was talking to my husband at the same time, and it just went flying from my hands I have granite floors,so I'm just grateful the stone hasn't chipped!

So,I went to two jewelers in town...one said he will try to send it away to the lab,the other said he won't touch it.Both agreed on the fact that 3 out of 4 prongs have been cut too deep into and will probably break off when lifted. The one that won't touch it also said that it can't have been the fall that moved the stone, because that would have loosened the other prongs, and the stone is still firmly in place.I don't know what to do now.I looked at old pictures and took new ones, and to me it seems the stone definitely moved slightly, but it's starting to get confusing.
