Why would you remove a blue diamond, to put a sapphire?

Hi neel... smile

.... First off your have picked a concave round and a round diamond cut stones... with the concave you will get more of a glow from within would be the best way to descibe the stone and how it will look.... and with the diamond cut you will have more flashes of light from the facets but of course with the blue glow to the stone as well... do you have any idea which type of gem cut she likes best????

... and also the setting you have picked is beautiful... smile

Can a stone which is 2.5 mm larger fit in this setting? And if it can, won't it pretty much cover the two side diamonds?

Yeah, I don't think thats going to work. But if you want a 3 stone with a sapphire center, the ladies here can point you in the right direction!

Can I suggest you don't shop at Zales? Here's a few suggestion that are super similar and you can request a quote for having a BTD sapphire as the centre instead.

Asha (coated CZ)

http://www.ashadiamonds.com/index.php?main_page=product_ring_info&cPath=1_8&products_id=517

Moissanite

http://www.moissaniteco.com/20ct-65mm-5mm-round-moissanite-antique-3stone-ring-p-12166.html

By the way, any ring can be set with either asha or moissy sidetones as Moissco and asha diamonds are owned by the same people!

Welcome, neel. Ooooh, we love it when guys care enough to come here and educate themselves about rings. Your girl is one of the luck ones!

Several board vendors (Amcor, Schubach's, Wink, Images, etc.) can build you this ring, or one very similar, with your chosen BTD Kashmir center. You'll get far better quality than you would from a mall jeweler, and the end cost will be comparable.

The ring you have chosen uses I1 diamonds on the sides, which means poor quality in terms of whiteness and sparkle. If you instead use Moissanite as your side stones, you'll get a giant jump in quality without having to pay extra, if not even save a bit of money. All of your side stones will be small enough that standard unenhanced Moissy will look great.

Check out this stock setting that any jeweler can set for you:
http://adwar.com/products/styles/22765L/view

And as long as I did a search, here are the others that are similar to what you've chosen:
http://adwar.com/products/styles/20344L/view
http://adwar.com/products/styles/23889L/view
http://www.uniquesettings.com/products/show/4314
http://www.uniquesettings.com/products/show/4240
http://www.uniquesettings.com/products/show/13178

There are tons more where those came from, not to mention from other sources. But hopefully this will give you a start.

Your proposal plan is lovely! I can't imagine why you'd need further suggestions. smile

I much prefer the colour of a BTD kashmir to that of an irradiated blue diamond.

As for the cut, I prefer the diamond cut. It has larger facets and I like how it sparkles. Others prefer the concave... the concave is more splintery looking, but will "sparkle" more... But sapphire sparkle is very different than diamond.
