I love amethyst. I just bought a ring and have plans to do a three some ring with amethyst and blue sapphire. I think African amethyst is the super dark purple one and the coombination with dark blue sapphire left me breathless. It just looked so rich. There were about 7 different amethyst pieces I wanted, purple and green combos, some with morganite etc etc. but the madness had to end somewhere *blush*. I'm actually trying to not go back and look at eBay right now but I'm losing the battle...

I have a HUGE Amethyst cabochon ring with pink tourmalines on the side, and it's to die for.
You just don't see perfect cabochons anymore frown

I have a friend who has an amethyst cabachon surrounded by diamonds that she chose as her engagement ring. It is AWESOME!
