Hey everyone!

Today I wondered into a mall jeweler and tried on a 2ct diamond three stone ring..stats were H colored diamonds, P1 clarity (I1)...18 carat yellow gold. I took a pic, it was a cold day and my hands look so old!
The diamonds faced up white, but had a cloud and white feathers visible to my eagle eye..I'll try to post a pic.

The price $15,000. On Blue Nile with H SI2 stones....$7450. crazy

I rest my case!!

Yeah, we get poor quality diamonds over here, but for big bucks. Michael Hills is one of the worst offenders in my book- and they really overprice!

This is why I am designing my new set with vendors in America!

Same same! grin

I'm going Moissanite Co for a Cartier three stone ring to upgrade my current diamond set.

I actually feel sorry for the uniformed consumers they take for a ride, the newly engage couple who have saved and think they are getting value for money.

I agree , that is one of the reasons, I started to look for alternatives online , and I'm so glad I did . Not only have I found a great group with so much knowledge , but I now also own 2 beautiful pieces from great vendors with excellent customer service . Although now I think I'm addicted to all things sparkly !!! grin

We've had lots of Aussie clients buying diamonds from us due to limited availability and insane prices! Even with the import costs, buying online from the US saves Aussie customers tons of money. It just means knowing what you want and working with a vendor you trust, since returns/exchanges can be tricky.
