Hi PC, I'm no jewellery expert (new to bling addiction) and I've never had a custom piece made (maybe one day) but would it not be possible to show the jeweller the image of what you don't want? With a clear idea of what you do and don't want he should be able to come up with a ring that you will love.

You're right, I do see the differences - the prongs are very visible, the pink diamonds are very dark and the stones appear to be channel set in the ring you don't care for. Your inspiration ring is to die for , DK seems to have rave reviews on these forums and if he has seen a pic of the inspiration ring, I'm sure he will try to match your expectations. Don't loose hope! It will turn out beautiful in the end.

I emailed David and told him I wasn't happy with the cads. I don't think I'm going to go with the halo anymore. I'm so indecisive. One day I see something I'm in love with, and the next day it's just ok. I don't know what to do. I go from wanting an emerald cut in a pave band, to wanting a pear halo, and now I'm thinking a pear solitaire and eternity band would be nice. What is wrong with me???

Nothing is wrong with you! Perhaps you just like the thrill of the hunt. Nothing is more exciting than possibilities! Once you decide on something it just feels so....permanent.

It could also be (if you're anything like me) that nothing ever quite measures up to what I see in my head. I get very anxious thinking about ordering something because what I want is so specific (no matter what I'm looking for!) And if it's not PERFECT I not only won't like it, I won't wear it.

Perhaps it's time to take a step back, or invest in a stone you love in a simple setting-like a solitaire, knowing that you can change it up later?

Or just hang out until something jumps and stays with you? Is there anything that you keep going back to time and again after each possibility no longer is one?

PC, I think you should try to decide what you do like first, and go from there. In regards to DK's cads, you can definitely show him the ring you don't like and point out EXACTLY what you don't like (color, prongs...) in the inspiration piece it looks like the stones are larger and the prongs are almost nonexistent. DK will work with you to get what you like, don't worry!

I would not do ANYTHING until you know what you want. For now, I'd buy on berricle the different shapes, pave, halo, etc and try them out. Only when you know what you want would I invest in expensive jewelry.

If you knew that you wanted a pear one day, and were sure about the shape, I would put that pear that JBEG has in layaway and then reset later when I knew what setting I wanted.

A solitaire is so veristale that I love them, personally.

I am sorry PC. I wanted this to work out for you. The DBL halo is special indeed... I have had that one saved since they first posted it. And honestly, it is one of those things where I think nothing will really match that. Only DBL can make a DBL ring like only LM can make a LM... You can always see differences. Is the semi mount from DBL totally out if the question? Even if you saved up for longer?

I agree that you could try to work with him on this, however, you already sent the pics of what you wanted, so I am not sure what you would send next to make you vision any clearer.

And NOTHING is wrong will you... You simply have the affliction that many of us get. It is time that makes it worse I think. We see so many stunning things on vendors sites, and here, and PS, that it can really make it impossible to have ONE favourite. The more time we spend looking, the more we see other things we love. And that can make a person crazy if you have to choose just one. I am sure that cushions will always be my favourite cut for a stone, but I love so many other things too.

Nothing is wrong with you what so ever PC... I totally understand what your talking about... ever since before I found this forum I went back and forth with what I wanted.... and it took til last fall for me to finally get it...

... I would just set down with the pear option... emerald option ... and the pear solitaire/eternity option ... and really look at what you like about that one piece/set the most....

... You'll know it in your gut which one will be for you... just don't let it stress you out... it's going to be gorgeous and sparklie no matter what... ... promise...
