Sorely disappointed with moissanite

I finally did the requisite ordering of moissy and Asha so that I could compare up close and in person.
I have studied pictures and posts on this board quite a bit, so I ordered an enhanced and an unenhanced moissy. I am so disappointed with moissanite. It didn't look the way I was hoping it would look (I expected it to look like a moody diamond). I really wanted to like it so that I would have a stone that would last a lifetime and that wouldn't need to be cleaned as often.
At first all I saw in them was the yellow (to me, the enhanced is indistinguishable from its unenhanced counterpart.) Throughout the day they grew on me though, and now I think that I'd be able to wear and appreciate them for what they are, maybe set into earrings (where I wouldn't see them up close, but they would still provide a lot of sparkle.) Friends and family would have been in the know about my moissanite engagement ring, (I wouldn't have been passing it off) but I just don't love it like I love the deepness of the Ashas. After all, I am the one who will be scrutinizing it most often and I want to be absolutely in love with my ring.
There are also quite a bit of overcast days where I live which only adds to the yellow cast. The stones look lovely in so many conditions, but everyone here is right - overcast days will bring out those yellows and greens.
So finally, the point of my post - I feel like while I still have the stones, I really want to know what you love about moissanite. Why did you choose it over anything else? I want to be able to appreciate their qualities for what they are - it's even possible that I'll change my mind. So please, do tell! What about moissy makes your heart skip?

I like moissanite because it was my gut reaction the second I opened my package that contained my Amora OEC.
Perhaps it's the cut that doesn't do it for you? The RB didn't make my heart skip a beat like the OEC does..
As for the qualities that are a bonus on top of the fact that I have my dream stone for aesthetic reasons (most important!) I also love that moissanite is durable enough to be an heirloom stone, which was and is really important to me, and that it is amazingly sparkly. I also love that, despite the fact that in the world of sims I have one of the more expensive ones, I'm unbelievably happy that I got my dream stone (not a hold me over) for less than 2k!
I could go on forever, but some quick other reasons why I love my moissy is because I loveee the J color (The OEC in that color looks very fitting). It is a soft buttery ivory. Plus, I was really particular about the setting for my ring, so getting the stone for less than 2k free'd up the rest of the budget for the setting.
But all of my opinions aside, you have to love the stone the second you see it, or try out a different cut. In jewelry, and really in life in general, it's best not to talk yourself into loving something, because then it's really just settling. If your knee-jerk reaction wasn't love at first sight, you should try something else absolutely.
ETA: I know this is a touchy subject because not all gold and melee is ethically sourced, but I'm glad that I can have a 3ct stone without the gut wrenching feeling that it has contributed to war and blood-shed.

Yes, what cut did you order? I am not a huge fan of the RBs for myself...unless they are colour enhanced. For modern cut stones, I prefer white stones as well...white as in E/F. But for old cuts, like the OEC, I think the unenhanced warmth is absolutely amazing. It is not white generally, but it is warm and glowy and beautiful in my opinion.
I also love the cushion cut of moissanite, but it does show a lot of warmth for me personally, so I have mine colour enhanced pink, and I LOVE it.
I choose moissy over Asha just because I feel moissy can last forever. If cared for, chances of chips and abrading are similar to that of a diamond. Asha and CZ don't have that forever quaility in my mind, and I don't want to deal with replacing stones. But a lot of people love their Ashas, and if you want a white stone, that is the way to go, at least for now, until you can order Amora Gem.
