If you still are not totally 100% sure that it's a pear, I'd go with sterling silver cz's until you know. Other wise you are going to be spending a few hundred dollars each time when you discover it's not THE one. I am not ordering anything else silver and cz. I have a budget and every penny needs to go towards the final product.

If you know that you truly want the diamond, I'd find a way to put it in layaway, pay it off in 3 paymens. And if you have to, buy a cheapie eternity band for now, and save toward one from AD.
That way the expense is spread out instead of a large lump sum all at once.

Yeah and now I have a 7x5 pear on the way I ordered from Wink for the DK setting. Don't know what I'm going to do with that.
I love the Jbeg pear, the only thing that worries me about it is the cost of sizing it or having to comepletely replace the setting. The yellow gold doesn't bother me, in fact if I did order the Roslyn, I planned on ordering yellow gold. The second thing is still having to find a wedding band. I can get the Roslyn and Endless band for $1400, or I can buy the diamond for $1600 and still have the cost of a band to worry about. It is such a hard decision. I really want the diamond, but can I justify the cost? If you would want Wink to do you the Roslyn set and him get you a stone cut for you in the size you are wanting all you would half to do is send the pear back that's on it's way no biggie.... then with what money you would be saving from the first cost of having the DK set done you could put back to start a fund for a natural pear diamond replacement stone in the future when you have the funds saved...

Why would you need to replace the setting? Do you not like that particular one? Is there a specific band you're looking for? Do you have one that can stand in for now? The only way you can justify the cost (IMO) is if you're looking to have a diamond in this shape down the line. If you were going to buy something else in this size and shape NOW with the intention of replacing it with the real deal later, then I think you can come closer to justifying the cost.

I would need it sized up to an 8.5, so if thats possible than that would be great. If its not possible, thats where the new setting would come into play. I don't have much knowledge on sizing rings, and how far up sizes they can go.
I'm just looking at a 2.5mm channel set band. I would order the one from AD.
I was going to upgrade to diamond later, but if I can get the diamond sooner than later I'd rather do that.

I just emailed her to see how long I would have to pay it off if I was able to somehow pay the deposit. When she gets back to me, I'll ask her about the sizing.

She knows now that she wants a pear cut stone... when she was listing the other options earlier it was just some ideas she had in the past... .... She's got it all under control....
