My e-ring will be a 6.25 (despite having been sized on multiple occasions between a 5.5-6) since I don't plan to wear a wedding band with it at any point, which I know is kinda crazy lol.
My fingers are sausage-like somewhat, so I have to be careful not to go too tight. I also second everyone who has said that their fingers are altered at this point so there is always somewhat a muffin-top look. I've been wearing rings on both ring fingers constantly since I was about 4 years ago.
KatNewby, when are you getting your ring!!??? I am dying to see your finished sparklie.
You know I didn't wear a band for years. But I got tired of people asking when the wedding was going to be and did I just get engaged AND I did feel like it was uncomplete.
I did finally get a band that I wore on my other hand, but people still asked the same questions. Now, I HAVE to wear a band with my "e-ring". It feels incomplete without it and I have fallen in LOVE with stacking even if my fingers are short sausages. I do it anyways. haha.
I feel like he is toying with me at this point! He's had the ring for about a month in a half and he's hiding it

lol I'm hoping (& kind of suspecting) he has something romantic planned for August.
I think wearing a wedding band would be nice, but my e-ring's shank is only 1.5-1.8mm with v-cut pave (1 pointers). It is going to be so impossibly delicate and I wouldn't want to risk hurting it by wearing a band against it.. Maybe someone else can speak to whether or not it would be a problem to pair a plain shank wedding band with it? Metal is palladium.
Stacking is such a beautiful thing, but I definitely don't have the fingers for it. I have muffin top after one ring! lol I just enjoy watching others do it

Like Hadley, who in my mind is the stacking poster child! lol Can't wait to see some stacking on you Lorrissey!
