When my hair was longer it was always up in the summer and down in the winter. I hate a cold or hot neck, lol.
Over the past 2 summers it has been medium length with layers, not long enough to put all of it up.
My hair is not very interesting on it's own. It's fine/limp but I have plenty so it just hangs around up there on my head. I have never been willing to put too much time into it. I use aloe vera gel and drop of jojoba oil and let it get almost dry before using a roller dryer to finish it off. I use a spritz of hairspray if needed just to keep the shorter layers back. By late afternoon it is getting limp enough that I grab a hairband to keep it out of my face.

These are not particularly attractive but it's the only thing I've found that will hold my fine hair and not fall out. If I'm camping or working on a project or outside for the day I wear it to keep my hair back.
If I'm getting 'fancy' then I might use some mousse/gel a curling iron and more hairspray. 3-4 hours is still the max for it looking really good and keeping anything that looks like a style.
