I just emailed Wink about a project idea I had!

I've been wanting a ring with a Wink CZ for a long time and was recently thinking about doing a triangle solitaire in YG, but I decided against it due to budget issues.

I rerouted my plans and started looking at antique sterling silver settings, and I found one I totally love:

I want to put a 13mm Wink Old Mine cut, Imperial White in that ring. It would be really dramatic and unique I think. Do you guys think it would be too ridiculous looking? It wouldn't exactly be cheap to do, but it would still come in at under what I'm willing to spend on my potential Wink project.

I'm actually kind of loving the idea of it...

Yes, it is from JansJewels! I've never ordered them before but they have some really cool antique settings.

"over-the-top" is quite a personal definition. I have a CZ cushion ring with traps and the center stone is around 10-11mm and it is just super huge. My e-ring center is a 9mm OEC and to me, the cushion looks SOO much bigger. I don't think I'd personally be comfortable sporting a 13mm round. I would probably scale down to 11mm to keep it somewhat practical (again, subjective) and to get away from the "door-nob" look.

Hope that isn't offensive, it's purely personal as I said.

No offense taken! I wanted something big, but I was thinking more around 10mm or so. Unfortunately, I really like this setting and it only comes in 13mm. I do like big stones and it's a "fun" ring, so I wouldn't really feel uncomfortable wearing it. Plus I have bigger fingers so while it would still be big, it wouldn't look as huge on me as on someone with smaller hands.

It will be over the top, though, it's definitely going to be a honker if I have this made.

Kat could you show us your cushion with handshots that you have? Is there already a thread? It may help with this and I'd also love to see this ring you speak of!

Starla, I am quite intrigued as I have never seen a 13mm OMC! I so love those antique cuts!!

Starla, what size is your finger? I have a 11mm cushion cz that I play with sometimes, and it is pretty big on my size 6. I think I like a 10mm cushion personally. But if this is just a fun piece for you and you don't care if people look like "what?!?!?" then rock it for what it is. An OMC is not so cushiony as a cushion either, so it wouldn't look as big as a 13mm cushion.

JCent, it's going to be on a size 8 finger. My RHR finger is a 9, but it doesn't feel comfortable to wear huge rings on my right hand for some reason.

It is just for fun, not an ering type thing or anything. So I don't really care if people look at it and go WTF!...hehe. I'm not really concerned with people thinking it's real because they won't, but I think with a Wink stone it will still look awesome even though it will be really big.

I think the 13mm would be okay then. The 11mm is big on my size 6 finger, but not so big that I feel like I couldn't wear it, especially for fun!

I think as long as you are wearing it as a cocktail ring and not an e-ring, then rock it!
