Don't know how I missed this thread. I saw that set. I almost got it. I got This one from hsn instead.

I can't wait to see your set and hear how you like it. I went with the hsn ring because I wanted to see the dimensions on my hand. 10x8mm center with 7x5mm sides AND I love 3 stone bezel rings.

problem is that the Epiphany plating can crack and then flake or peel off. sometimes in spots, or unevenly, leaving rough edges.

like real chrome on old cars can be?

it doesn't *always* crack. but it can. and it can't be rhodium plated on top of the Epiphany, it would all have to be buffed off.

I love that one lorrisey, I almost got it for myself. I would love to see some pics when you do get it! Ginger I like the one you picked as well. I think it looks very close to the dream ring. I hope you can reset it with the acc!

Dana, do you think it would be okay with just moving the prong to let out the stone and put the new one in??

Its possibly that it could still look nice with the princess cut but princess cuts aren't my fav.

I know. I'm supposed to be on spending freeze myself. But I kinda just had to have it. I broke down and got an asscher uternity too. Ay yayay! What is wrong with me?

The ring came this morning so I took some pictures for you. Now I have to decide if it is worth taking the risk of switching out the princess for a Wink Cartier Cushion or if I should send it back. I would love to switch it out but if the platinum peels off then I am stuck with a ring I can't wear that cost me over $100.

when it comes to the epiphany type plating cracking... worst case scenario, if it bothers you, you can polish it off with a sunshine cloth. it'll take some doing, but it's a nice mindless project to do while watching tv or a movie.
just the damaged area, you wouldn't have to polish it all off.

in looking at your pictures, i'd be more concerned that the stone in the ring is a pointy-cornered princess, and that the prongs might be V cornered on the inside.... and replacing it with a round cornered cushion, that might leave sharp edges exposed on the ring.

if you've got a loupe, i suggest examining the ring up close to see if you can tell if the stone's got pointy corners and if the prongs actually wrap around the corners.

That ring looks amazing! I'm on pins and needles. If it works for your, I may have to copy cat with an Asha Asscher.

Well that's good to know Dana! I amazingly don't have a loupe but it looks like the corners maybe clipped on the princess. I think I will take the chance and send it to Wink. If his bench can do this, this ring will be much more pleasing to me. Then I would just bake the whole thing with the clear Cartier Cushion in it. I will probably have to get one ordered to fit most likely and if so, then I want a large open culet. I don't like the tiny ones that the Cartier Cushions come with.
