Ok, I realize just the title probably made some of you puke! BUT.... Hubby approached me the other day asking if I would be open to getting matching tattoos. We were thinking of a set of words that has meaning to us (like "the love of my life" we started calling each other that a month into our relationship) and the date we met or a symbol of some sort. He was thinking of having them done on my left forearm and his right so they would touch in certain situations. What do you think of couples tattoos? Anyone have pics of some really nice, interesting or unique ones? Thanks! (and sorry to those of you that this thread induced vomiting for)

My guy and I talked about doing half hearts on our ring fingers that way when we are together they are a whole heart and when we are apart it's half. I like the idea of couples tattoos, but not names! lol

Well, I may be biased, but I love the idea. My husband is a tattoo artist. He and I did committed the ultimate tattooing sin and got eachother's initials right after we got engaged. Tattoo artists try to talk people out of doing names or initials, because people believe a myth that when you do something like this, you end up breaking up. I don't believe that at all. I don't think it's the tattoo that caused the breakup, something else did. lol Personally, I feel that getting matching tattoos, initials, names, dates or the like can be meaningful. For us it is, because we finally found the "one". Here's a link to a pic. Hopefully, it is not too big. I can't get into Photobucket from work. http://instagr.am/p/K3oW2-KvQ4/

I am divided on this. I love the idea myself, and for hubby and I would work as both of us like tattoos, etc. BUT, there are case where the marriage or relationship does not last and regardless of what it says it was 'still' a symbol that relates to that particular person, and the feeling is just there as if it was a name, does that make sense? NOT trying to rain on parade, I do like the idea overall but have a few points that might stop me from doing....not sure how to explain lol

My FIL's first and last name start with the same letter, so my MIL got a heart with that letter in it. She says if they ever got divorced that the letter won't stand for his name anymore, but for her last name lol!

Weeeell, if that is the case than I don't see why even raise a question on doing it or not, lol I thought she wanted to know how we felt about the whole deal I feel divided

To my 6 Hubby has 0!!!! ... I can't even get him to watch someone on TV get a tattoo... he is terrified of needles... So it would be a no go for me and him... but if it's the lick and stick I might would be able to get him to do it...

I really like that A LOT!!! ..... One of my tattoos is my Hubbies name... I told him that he had to get mine after I got his... then I all his buddies made a big joke that he would only be able to get through the AMAN part and it would look like it sad A MAN!!!!

Im so excited! We are going Tuesday! I am getting the words A Little More and he is getting the words A Little Less. It fits us on so many levels, I've made him a little softer he's made me a little stronger. He's a little less skeptical Im a little more cautious... Etc.. Mainly though we love each other a little more today than yesterday and a little less than we will tomorrow. I know that's been around forever but again it fits us as its how we really feel!! I can't wait

That's so sweet! We don't have matching tattoos,as my husband is afraid of the pain lol but I have a wrist tattoo for him,a red heart outline with a black, gothic A inside, for his name.I need to get it redone, the black ink on my wrist seem to fade very quickly
