BUT, there are case where the marriage or relationship does not last and regardless of what it says it was 'still' a symbol that relates to that particular person, and the feeling is just there as if it was a name, does that make sense?

NOT trying to rain on parade, I do like the idea overall smile
but have a few points that might stop me from doing....not sure how to explain lol

So you cover it up with another tattoo. wink

Weeeell, if that is the case than I don't see why even raise a question on doing it or not, lol grin

I thought she wanted to know how we felt about the whole deal smile

I feel divided smile

LOL! I was just speaking from my perspective. Although, mine is on my hand. I don't know how that would be covered. I'd have to do a whole hand tattoo. Haha.

My hubby and I have matching tattoos on our inner left wrists of an old school heart and little flowers on each side and the date we started dating underneath. smile We both need to add our wedding date under the other date...its only been 7 years since we were married and never did that. lol

To my 6 Hubby has 0!!!! grin ... I can't even get him to watch someone on TV get a tattoo... he is terrified of needles... smile So it would be a no go for me and him... but if it's the lick and stick I might would be able to get him to do it... crazy

I don't think it's the tattoo that caused the breakup, something else did. lol

Personally, I feel that getting matching tattoos, initials, names, dates or the like can be meaningful. For us it is, because we finally found the "one". smile

Here's a link to a pic. Hopefully, it is not too big. I can't get into Photobucket from work.

Now that's my taste... I really like that A LOT!!! wink

..... One of my tattoos is my Hubbies name... I told him that he had to get mine after I got his... then I all his buddies made a big joke that he would only be able to get through the AMAN part and it would look like it sad A MAN!!!! grin

I do understand the whole "what if" thing but I dont think that is really an issue for me.

Even if heaven forbid something did happen between him and I, this man has had such a profound impact on me and my life, tattoo or not he will be in my heart forever.

If something were to happen, Im sure at first I would hate the reminder but eventually I'd look at it as a reminder of one of the best things and times of my life.
