problem is that there aren't industry-wide standardized names for a lot of things

so what one company calls a Y-shank, another will call a Split Shank, and another may call a divided shank.

I think you get what I mean.

I don't know if it's an industry term, or just a brand name, but Daniel K had the "split crown" http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/daniel-k-jewelry/rings/03TT1/, and CharmyPoo's ring was based on it

whatever it's called, I also prefer it when the split is closer to the center and then joins up again into one row of diamonds
