SO, it has been decided between my friend/hairstylist and myself that if my hair got this dry now it will only keep getting worse once I retouch etc, SO to avoid further time wasting and money, we will cover up - was fun while lasted, LOL

The new game IS, what color??? Def not TOO dark.
At this point not scared of anything, just want my nice treated hair back smile

BG, I would wait a few weeks before you color over it- any permanent color you use will have ammonia and peroxide in it, even if it's not a lighter color.

I had an episode two years ago where I wanted "a few" blonde highlights in my very dark Italian hair and, thanks to being way too passive and not paying attention, ended up looking like Storm from X-men. I colored over it right away and my hair started breaking off in CHUNKS. I've been in recovery ever since.

Sorry BG frown The coconut oil will help, but actually repair it. And so will a protein treatment. Be warned though, too much protein can actually make your hair more brittle... so using the treatments more and longer will not make your hair better. It will cause more breakage. I would use it once a week maybe. I would stop shampooing and it you have to shampoo, use something SLS free. I love Aveda's Brilliant line. It is VERY hydrating, and great for damaged hair. I don't shampoo ever any more and do the conditioner only hair washes, and use Aveda's Brilliant.

For the re-colour, I would recommend an Aveda salon as well. Their hair colours are way less chemical, and they usually have a colour corrective specialist on staff.

Thanks all, we are going to give it a chance and she is going to give it a deep conditioning treatment (was going in to style for a party anyway), and I am going to buy a deep treatment thiny and do once a week, plus use a better leave in.

Brazilian Girl, so sorry you are having such a hard time after colouring your hair frown I'm with the PPs - don't colour your hair again so soon - give it some time. I use Moroccan Oil on my hair daily and a shampoo for coloured hair. Jcent and Caris seem to have more info re protein treatments, so I would do as they suggest and not overdo. Hang in there, but do give your hair some time to heal.

Thanks guys, it is a lot better.

We did a keratin and deep conditioning treatment, also I got some Arragon Oil and she said to mix it with my leave in, AND to a deep conditioning mask once a week smile

Looks great now, let's see if I can get some pics, I love pics, lol grin

First of all, you are gorgeous. Second, I would have never guessed your hair was dry or damaged. It looks really thick and healthy in the photos. I'm jealous. My hair is shitty. It's very fine and thinning. Yep, I'm pretty sure I'm going bald. lol
